In the summer of 2012, I happened to talk to a UW (Wisconsin) student that knew Russell personally. He told me, when I asked about the new Seahawk, that “you guys in Seattle are gonna love him”. When I replied that it sounds like we drafted a really good backup QB, though, he knew I didn’t understand (yet) just how good Russell was. “Don’t be so sure that he’s gonna be the backup” was all he said, but the slight grin he wore told me more than that. And...he was right - Wilson started in his very first NFL game. I believe that he’s on his way to the Hall of Fame. Go Hawks!
