Gorgeous Acura RL, I have seen these versions with over 400,000 miles highly reliable vehicle when maintained properly like yours. You have the first generation which was produced from 1996-2004. This 3.5 RL know internally as the "KA9 to replace the Acura Legend. This 3.5RL had a longitudinally mounted V6 engine had its center-line mounted in-line with the car's axis, not transversely. This allowed for a smaller turning radius and maneuverability. As well as 56/44 Front/rear weight distribution. Front wheel drive, 4 speed transmission. 225HP classic car.

Wow what a great video! As a sentimental car lover myself I personally was much more fond of the acura legend that this replaced the only because I thought the styling looked far more muscular and less like a copy of the LS 400. Although I'm an automotive wholesaler I still drive my a 2000 Toyota Camry with 425 K miles on her. I Adopted her back in October 99 with 700 miles From an elderly man who had purchased her only a month earlier But decided He Wanted the all new 2000 Avalon instead. I was looking at a stripped down Left over 1999 base model Camry CE with a 5 speed stick and roll up windows. As a starving 20 year old college kid it was all I thought I could afford. Suddenly That elderly man came flying through the front door of the dealership angry and offended at the low ball price they were offering him for his 2000 XLE With only 700 miles. We struck up a conversation. He asked me why a young good looking college kid Like me would want Such a boring and mature car like a Camry when there were so many other more fun in sporty cars that were cheaper? I told him that I was currently driving My mom's old 89 Camry hand-me-down With almost 200 K miles on it. I was going to college up in Daytona and head to take the drive back down to Miami Beach every Weekend And even though the old Camry had never broken down I Didn't want to press my luck. The real reason BTW was because I was tired of driving the old boxy dinosaur 89 And I wanted to buy a new car O on my own like an idiot. The elderly man Told me he was impressed by the strong head on my shoulders and marched me back into the dealership. He told the sales manager that he would only trade in his XLE In on the Avalon if they promised to sell it to me for what they were giving him in trade. I ended up getting that XLE that cost the man 28K23 days earlier For less than 15K out the door which was 3K less Then the base Camry I was negotiating for. Long story short me and my Camry Have been together for 20 years now and it's a running joke amongst my family and my homies that we come as a package deal. I throw her birthday parties In my friends know they had better come with Gifts for her. Not to brag but even though IM very successful at what I do And at this point I could pay cash for almost any new car I wanted within reason and I have over the years I still love and drive my baby girl.

Great video and gorgeous Acura! This car cost 3 times more expensive when new and considered as a rare car in Indonesia 😭. Many people ended up buying the "econo-box" version of this car back in 2000s (Honda City Type Z).

Thanks Cristian. I haven't shown this one anywhere yet. The annual Legend meet is actually in Phoenix this fall (assuming it doesn't get cancelled or delayed due to the pandemic). So I will get a chance to show it there.

I just bought one and it still has the original window stickers on the driver and passenger side. It gives it a nice touch actually. Not sure if I should tint the windows or not 🤔

That's awesome it still has the sticker!

With a V8 engine and the rightful Legend name, it would've been a homerun!

Even with the V6, it hauls
@travelseatsyellowlab3 жыл бұрын
@@bleachstain9785 yes but I remember the critics counted the lack of a V8 as a demerit when compared with similar offerings from competitors.
@bleachstain97853 жыл бұрын
@@travelseatsyellowlab yes, they listed it as a con of the car I know. It never had any issues with being a considerably better engine than any V8 offerings at the time

aw man, i have one, 2004 in blue with 175k that i gave to my son. but unfortunately since he's had its gotten hit a few items. that said, i did a leak test to check the head gasket and it's still good tho I'm debating whether to invest another 4k to bring it up to speed. would need timing bet, water pump, valve cover gaskets changed.

This car is beautiful, unfortunate how Acura couldn’t get more power out of the V6. It was outperformed by basically all its competitors at the time. They had turned the Legend into a soft riding luxo cruiser. It was the flagship model of Honda’s premium brand whose V6 engine didn’t even have VTEC technology. It prioritized low end torque over upper range revs.
