I have dry skin and that requires a skincare routine with products that help hydrate and moisturize as well as exfoliate. That's why ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycolic acid, and retinol are very important to include. Watch this video to see my current nighttime skincare routine for dry skin.

Where my dry skin people at?! This is one of my classic skincare routines. I try tons of products and switch it up often, but these are my usual steps. Also, thank you to L’Oreal Paris! They prove you don’t have to drop $300+ on HA serum for it to be good. 👍

I seal the remaining serum in the bag and use it the next night so I get good use out of it or I sometimes use it on arms . Also I get mine from korean brands its around 10/12 masks for £6.99 . I wouldn't get too caught up in the price, she's not suggesting that you out and buy all these products right away. YOu should actually that's a really good way to irritate your skin. Due to not being able to get Liahs kale-lula toner, what would be the next best thing that would be just as gentle in the meantime? I agree thought the same and even though she explained why I’m not 100% sold. @@stylistabeauty I use a prescription strength retinoid (Adapalene/Differin gel) so I only use an aha/bha to exfoliate no more than twice a week. Usually in the form of a 5% glycolic acid, 1% salicylic acid cream cleanser that I leave on my skin like a mask for 5 mins or less, or this lactic acid and vitamin C toner I use too sometimes. Once in a while I'll also use a 2% salicylic acid serum as a spot treatment. I think it depends on the strength of the retinol you're using, the strength of the acids you're using and just how your own skin reacts. The prescription retinoid I use causes a good amount of dryness and sensitivity for me so I know my skin would not react well to daily exfoliation.

I don't have a dry skin. Mine is combo (t-zone slightly oily and cheeks normal). From time to time it seems like it's a bit sensitive, so I tend to use a "dry skin" routine. The difference is that after a good AHA, I layer a multi-stem cell serum. It transforms my skin overnight, so any small hint of dryness I feel its gone usually for days. Also, here in Romania, there is a special cream called "the japanese princess", which is like a miracle cream for my skin at least. (brightening and antioxidants like artichoke extract, kiwi extract, sunflower oil and many other amazing ingredients), but the best part of this cream is Alpinia Katsumadai Seed Extract . On this ingredient there are even some studies proving inhibitory effects for atopic-dermatitis like skin lesions - so should be heaven for any person with dry skin. When I get eczema or some bad reaction, my goto face cream is SVR topialyse palpebral (my dermatologist recommended it to me when I was dealing with some eczema and my skin was very reactive - yes its an eye cream, yes I used it on my whole face). Btw love your channel, since I am also a skin care addict and love treating my skin with the best things ever. I am deep in love with the chemistry part and scientific studies part since I was 12. My biggest tips for surviving dry skin are: 1. Squalane oil. OMG this has saved my skin! The one from the Ordinary is outstanding. I put it on overnight and the next day my skin feels amazing. SO plumped. SO hydrated. This has definitely been the one product I couldn't live without. 2. Always use an oil or balm for cleansing. I used to use the foaming ones and my gosh they were awful. Never use wipes either (duh!) they are soooo drying. I always try to avoid SLS too. Especially on my body. 3. Salicylic acid 1/2 times a week is great for dry skin. I personally find glycolic a little too harsh. 4. A mild retinol. I like the L'oreal one. It's gentle but I can see the benefits x

Yes personally i think you should! My AM routine tends to be a simple bioderma water just to remove any gunk or sometimes a cotton pad with water. Then i go with my moisturizer and sunscreen applying throughout the day. Later at night you should def be double cleansing to remove all that dirt and buildup from the sunscreen and moisturizer that you've had on all day. (:

Hi Susan! Could you do a skincare routine for dehydrated skin? I learned from Liah Yoo that even though I can get pretty oily, my skin is also dehydrated because of a compromised skin barrier.

Love that routine thank you so much susan! My skin is so dry, I use literal vaseline to get my sunscreen off if i'm wearing a water resistant one 😁! I like that it doesn't have emulsifiers and leaves a film on my dry skin so when I go in with a hydrating cleanser, it doesn't dry out my skin at all because the problem is all cleansers dry out the skin to some extent even if they're hydrating. I also have Rosacea and that has been the best and most cheap method to cleanse effectively. I also use 3 different thick moisturizers/balms. 😂

Hi Susan! Thanks so much for sharing this routine. I have dry to combination skin, and it's also acne-prone and sensitive - all in all, a lovely set of issues to deal with on a daily basis haha. What would you suggest for someone who does have a damaged skin barrier AND early signs of aging who is trying to bounce back? Right now I have a thoroughly researched routine that consists mostly of Paula's Choice and Purito products, as well as a high strength Rx for tretinoin (I've been using tretinoin for acne for a long time and my skin has fully acclimated to it). Thanks! :)

Hey Susan, you said that you get two uses out of one ampule. What do you do with the ampule after you use the first half of it? is that something that needs to be refrigerated? Do you leave it out on your counter carefully so it doesn't tip over? Thank you

Now I need to switch it up, I wasn’t using anything hydrating at night besides my cream and have been using the farmacy honeymoon glow serum and I feel so dehydrated and dry the next day. I’m also going to add the pixi beauty hydrating mist post serum 😬 how would I add a sleeping mask as my last step? I have the Paulas choice one or the Laneige sleeping mask? Can you also do a dehydrated skin routinen😬

Another great product for dry skin is the cosdebaha snail serum it's 4oz for about $13ish and it has snail mucin and hyaluronic acid so good and such an awesome deal! Also the tatcha dewy skin cream no other moisturizer helps my skin like that one does.

Gintrė Glinskaitė you should be fine! Hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in your skin anyway. Plus your moisturiser probably already contains hyaluronic acid. Use it at your serum stage and you should be golden

All my life I thought that I had “oily” skin when the truth was that my face was so dehydrated that was over producing oil like crazy trying to moist my skin, really bad acne, redness and depression were all over the place ☹️ I used to use a lot of harmful products trying to “calm” my oiliness when the truth was that I have a really dry-normal skin. I began using on the morning La Roche Posay Toleraine cleanser with LRP Toleraine moisturizer. I use TO Niacinamide and Zinc as a spot treatment (I switched to Naturium’s one because I can’t find it anymore I love Naturium’s much more 🙂) With purito unscented sunscreen. At night I clean with Bioderma micelar water, then I clean with Cerave SA cleanser, TO glycolic acid toner, Cerave SA cream (moisturizer) and if I feel so I put on to my face some over night mask. I use Retinol once a week My purging was SCARY AF 🤣 but I calmed down my own brain and kept the cycle ❤️☹️ My face is now more beautiful than EVER. Thanks to YOU, Cassandra and Hyram 🥰 And my routine I’m now getting a little bit more fancy some nights here and there with vitamin C or Marula Oil 🤣 but only if I feel so.

My bf asked me to make him a skin care routine. He has super normal skin (only has a few blemishes here and there, not dry or oily), doesn’t break out 🙄lol but I was just gonna get him the Cereve SA renewing cleanser, Cereve moisturizer, and a Cereve sunscreen, do you recommend I get him an oil based cleanser for the sake of taking off his sunscreen? If so, which one? I was considering the squalene cleanser from the ordinary.

Susan, what would you say is the benefit of antioxidants in a night time routine? I'm only informed of its effectiveness in fighting free radicals during the day time when you're out and about. Still gathering all this knowledge :)

We’re exposed to a lot of things that can cause free radical damage including some of the ingredients in our products, so it’s always good to have antioxidants to strengthen your skin and fight those effects.
