(12:35) For a new 3D Mario, I really think it should be open world, like Breath of the Wild compared to all other Zelda games, except the terrain itself is more suited to Mario. We have Odyssey, but that is 15 small open worlds in one game, not one giant open world. Even though you can wander in the kingdoms and do what you want, the kingdoms themselves are not intertwined and still have to be explored in order.

As an active Splatoon player, I've had to delete numerous memories from it because the limit for clips is 1000. Same for games like Mario & Luigi too although less severe since the screenshot limit is 10 times as much. Big SD Cards are also useless on Switch unless you are downloading alot of 3rd parties thanks to this. While Splatoon 2 & 3 versions on more powerful hardware would be nice, my biggest hope for the Switch 2 is that limit removed, along with the ability to record longer clips (at least 3 minutes) or even entire play sessions, like the PS5.

I may be misremembering but I don’t remember Metroid Prime 4 or Pokemon Legends Z-A being mentioned as being for the Switch 1. Actually the fact that no specific console was mentioned for those games is why people assumed they’d be for the Switch 2. I agree with a lot of your wish, but Mario Odyssey is as open world as I want Mario to get. Not everything needs to be open world. Mario is one that absolutely does not need to be.

My biggest wish for Switch 2 aside from the new Mario Kart is beefier single player for the next Smash game. With how much of a success Ultimate was, I think single player is one of the biggest of Ultimate’s flaws that a new game can fix. (And don’t @ me saying that the next Smash is going to be Ultimate Deluxe. The Switch 2 is already backwards compatible. Ultimate’s still going to be playable on it.)

I don’t see why Switch 1 Joy-Cons would be incompatible with Switch 2. They released an accessory to charge them while not attached to any console the same day as Mario Party Jamboree. So problem solved for not being able to connect them to Switch 2. Also, yes, I want a new Donkey Kong game. And while I’d love another 2D Country game, BRING DK TO 3D OH MY GOODNESS THERE IS SO MUCH POTENTIAL FOR A NEW 3D DK GAME PLEASE! We did that ONCE and never again, and the potential is absolutely there for making a fun game where you explore a world with DK and the abilities he has. Also, I really don’t jive with the notion of “it HAS to be Retro developing Donkey Kong.” Given what we heard about the cancelled Donkey Kong Freedom game, that was gonna be Vicarious Visions. And the person who spread the rumor that a DK game was being done in house by the Odyssey team said it was still happening, it just got moved to Switch 2… so I think DK getting a game can happen even without Retro’s involvement. And I sure hope it’s sooner rather than later, Tropical Freeze made DKC my favorite series, so that 11 year gap is torture for me when I wanted a new game to follow up Tropical Freeze.

By the way Albert, in your MK7 Course ranking, you said that MK7 has the superior versions of the 3DS tracks, don't you mean SOME of the superior versions like Wii Coconut Mall and Toad Circuit; while the rest of the 3DS tracks (nitro and retro) are better in 8DX?
