It angers me so much. It angers me how she kept saying "I asked for this, I asked for that" YOU SHOULD NEVER BE THE ONE ASKING DOCTORS TO TEST YOU! It's their job to take care of you and the fact that they gave no flying f's makes me so mad. How many people out there go undiagnosed with cancer or other serious things just because of lazy doctors?! May Jenny rest in peace and may her family find strenght to get though this hard time.

I heard about Jenny from Kneady Homesteader's channel on KZbin. I have only been watching Jenny's videos for 3 or 4 days. I didn't even hardly know Jenny. This video popped up and I thought I would come and meet Jenny. Prayers for you Kyle, just praying continually for you for strength to continue on and take care of your children and that you will stay well. Please make sure that you and your children are sleeping. Lack of sleep after a death can cause lots of problems and could be a sign that something is wrong. Once again prayers.

The way our healthcare system functions is so incredibly unacceptable. She had to beg and cry at an urgent care months too late to get a test that she needed. How is this possible in a first world country? Imagine if they took her seriously at the onset of her symptoms. It is infuriating watching her go through what she's going through today, and I put the blame in large part on our terrible system. Not a guarantee, but the outcome could have been so different if they got to her earlier. Jenny and her husband are such good people, and it is so messed up this happened! People need to be strong advocates for themselves, and we need reform!!!

Our medical system has been taken over by big business. They have forced MDs to join large groups where they track everything and all that matters is the bottom line. MDs are just worker bees now. It is insane and sad. Appointments are weeks or months out. Emergency Care facilities are sometimes the only option. ER's are overrun with patients and under staffed. Things are not going to improve anytime soon.
@Andrea-ue7gv
@Andrea-ue7gv 7 ай бұрын
I don‘t think it‘s the healthcare system. It has to do more with the fact that young people, especially women often aren‘t taken seriously by doctors. Lung cancer on someone so young is very rare and most doctors probably only see it few times in their careers if that. But still, if you have rib pain they should at least do chest x-rays. It‘s so infuriating.

No! Tragically it IS our healthcare system in the United States of America. It didn't used to be this way when I started working in healthcare back in 1971. Now, primary care docs' practices have been bought up by larger hospitals and are under pressure to see as many patients as possible. Appointments are waitlisted for months. Last time I checked the rating of medical care in the US was.listed as 45th in the world with the best care being in the Nordic countries and many other nations. It is a travesty!!! The countries rated as providing the highest quality of medical care were all socialized medicine. Look it up.

@@jaypie0864 as far as I know I don’t believe she has, but thank you for not coming on here and right away blasting the covid vaccine for causing cancer. At this point we really don’t know. While I cannot say for certainty that it can’t cause cancer, I have been doing my own research and haven’t really found a correlation in any increase of multiple kinds of cancer in those who have received the vaccine. Personally I think the increase in cancer rates is caused more by environmental factors, air quality, food additives, etc. The increase of certain types of cancer has been on the rise long before the covid vaccine became available. But I guess only time will tell. Thanks again for being nice and not coming on here in an attacking fashion as I’ve seen many people do on other cancer channels I’m following. When he complained to his family Dr, the Dr would say things like “ just don’t move your arm if it hurts” He finally complained to his cardiologist who ran tests and found cancer with Mets. My Dad had the same cancer as yours. For anyone reading this, you know your body, if something isn’t right, don’t stop until you get answers. Don’t let Dr’s discredit your complaints. This. Very nearly the same thing happened to my mom. She had a lump removed from her breast in Oct of 2019. As early as January 2022, she began complaining of pain in her chest (a burning, pulling sensation she always said) and pain across her shoulder and arm. She was told after doing preventative chemo and radiation in early 2020 that radiation on the chest can cause damage to ligaments and muscles, which can cause chronic pain in the area on and off. She visited her doctor a couple of times that year and was told likely that was the source. She did the heat/cool treatments to ease it and laying down frequently (she always said it hurt more being upright and pulling down.) It wasn't until 2023 when she began to be sick constantly (frequent nausea, vomiting, shortness of breath, acceleration of pain in the chest, bad fatigue) that she demanded to have all the scans or ultrasounds available. The cancer returned and spread; it had attached to the breast bone. That was the source of the pain. Spread to liver, lungs and brain at Stage 4 when they finally found it. She was diagnosed officially August 9 2023 and was too weak from having been sick so long to do treatment. She opted not to after a lot of discussion and tears. She just passed Oct 7 2023. It still makes me mad to think of it.

@@christinelamb1167this story is unbelievably sad, but I don’t see how it’s the initial PCP’s fault. They ordered a chest X-ray as well as a CBC and spleen US. That’s quite a bit of testing, and the truth is stuff gets expensive for people very quickly. Medicine is just the application of evidence based science, and 999/1000 someone of her age and health wouldn’t need more testing. It’s super unfortunate in this situation, but I feel that the PCP did take her concerns seriously, and placing blame on them isn’t super fair.

When a person mentions breathing issues and pain in the chest a GOOD doctor would do some kind of diagnostic test - chest X-Ray, pulmonary testing, chest CT scan or MRI chest scan ....something, anything to at least begin to explore possible lung issue. And you can see the cost of being "too nice" or a "people pleaser." Frankly, a lot of doctors just do the bare minimum these days. And even in this case the ER nurse wanted to block you from getting the MRI. Good for being pushy.

I purposely go to a doctor rotation Clinic. I get a new fresh faced excited resident yearly. You are able to go to one visit and cover anything you want. If I want a chest scan they give it to me, if I want bloodwork they give it to me, if I need to discuss mental health and medication, they give it to me. They sit down and they say, what do you need from this visit? It has changed my whole perspective on doctors and care.

I know I should wait to get control over my rage, but I truly hope Jenny’s original doctor hears about her KZbin channel and reads these comments! I’ve spent the last 2 years watching this absolutely beautiful young mom and wife suffer through the most horrific treatments in order to have more time to spend with her precious children and unbelievably supportive & loving husband. Tragically, her poor little body wore out, and this cruel world lost a true gift from God. And why is this perfect little family now forced to face a life without her in it? Because for over a year, her doctor adamantly refused to listen to her complaints and concerns, despite the fact that she knew her body better than anyone else, and she was worried! Not to mention, she was an educated, health-conscious, young woman who was exhibiting obvious pulmonary distress. Rather than simply order a routine chest x-Ray, he completely ignored her requests, trivialized her fears, and treated her based solely on his own guess work. This arrogant, irresponsible, callous narcissist should be sued for medical malpractice, and he should not be allowed to practice medicine on another human being. Because of his recklessness, Jenny’s once treatable cancer spread too far to cure, and that beautiful angel was forced to suffer though years of devastating treatments which assaulted her body so badly, she wasn’t able to truly enjoy the little time she had left with her children and her family! Not to mention, her husband is not only faced with a future without the love of his life, he’s going to have to find childcare for his two traumatized children who have been raised with a stay-at-home mommy! There is no excuse for what this doctor put this family through, and he should be held accountable for the misery he caused!

When one is complaining of rib pain and shortness of breath, doctors should start sounding the alarm and send people to do scans such as MRIs, CT Scans, and PET Scans. I didn’t have lung cancer, but I had chest pain. I had to call a nurse to get permission to see a doctor, the nurse heard my young children in the background and told me I was just stressed out ( I was having chest pains, back pains and shortness of breath). The nurse told me to sit down and put my head between my legs. That didn’t work. This all started around 2pm. I waited until my husband got home from work around 7, and we decided to just head to the hospital, cuz I was so uncomfortable. At the hospital, the doctor told me I should have called 911. I was kind of lectured, I told the doctor that the advice nurse wouldn’t ok an appointment for me, that I was just having stress. Well, I wound up in ICU for 11 days, I had to have two surgeries, if I had gotten to the hospital sooner, I might have only had to have one surgery. I was 31. I had a 3 and a 4 year old. I was young and healthy, but I had a birth defect that almost cost me my life. My advice to people, listen to your body. You know when something is wrong. Don’t make my mistake, I knew something was wrong, but I listened to the advice nurse, and I knew better. I knew there was something very wrong with me.

This is very sad. I have a friend who's 76 (two days ago) and during a routine lung x-ray they found stage 1 cancer (about 3 years ago). He had one-third of a lung removed, pretty quickly after the discovery, and he's fine. The cancer was tiny when it was found and had not spread. In Jennys' case I feel like the medical community really dropped the ball...probably because she didn't smoke, was young, ate a healthy diet, etc. Getting something like this detected early is usually the difference between life and death and it seems like this young gal tried to the attention of doctors but was largely ignored. This is no time to get overly political but part of what happened is probably the result of a profit-driven, privatized health care system that is encouraged to save money by "playing the odds". She presented with all the symptoms of lung cancer but since she didn't fit the common profile it sounds as if doctors didn't take her seriously and skipped an early chest X-ray - and that's a real tragedy. A simple chest X-ray, early on, would have likely saved her life. It just doesn't seem right that a young mother who was careful with her health is taken away from this life so early. She seems like a beautiful soul and may she rest in peace.

Folks... Listen to Mrs. Apple's advice, because she knew what she was talking about. If you're talking with a doctor, and you feel like they aren't doing the right tests on you... Then become your own advocate and say that for your peace of mind that you would like the right test done. And if that doctor doesn't listen to you, then get another doctor! Reason being, that doctor isn't living their life for you, you are. And I've experienced doctors playing that type of mind game before, by haggling about one test verses another test? (Some doctors are weird that way, and I view that medical mind game stuff as unprofessional.) God bless the Apple family, and God bless you all as well.

@@carmencarp3594You have to know what to ask and do some research before seeing the doctor. A lot of the doctors would not think of cancer the first thing when they see a young person walking into the clinic. If they see a young person complaining of blood in the stool, they will do a physical exam, probably saying something like hemorrhoids or rectal fistula send you home with the cream maybe a blood test. They will not send the person to colonoscopy right away especially the bleeding is not significant. People with no medical background will just listen to whatever the doctor tell them. Unfortunately this story with missed cancer diagnosis is too common. They never want to order expensive imaging that will usually catch most cancers.

My Mom was still fairly young at the time she went to her Doctor about sudden extreme fatigue & shortness of breath. She asked about her heart. Her Doctor basically said, that she was too young for it to be her heart. Within a week, she was in emergency at the Hospital. They rushed her immediately to a city that specialized in open heart surgery. They said she’d have been dead within 2 weeks had it not been caught. Her Dr came to see her in the Hospital. He asked her why she hadn’t told him. She said, “I tried to”. Apathy kills. It’s almost criminal. I just saw your Husband’s most recent video. 😢 What happened to you & to many others is unconscionable. Being young does not automatically mean you can’t possibly be ill. Jenny, may you rest in peace. You were gone far too soon.

Your wife will soon be a beautiful angel . So sad to watch this video! Jenny is beautiful inside and out and she is one of a kind special lady . She will be missed by everyone that has had the pleasure to be graced by her . Watching her be soo strong and so unselfish through this journey . She fought with such bravery . May her passing be beautiful with no suffering.

This just breaks my heart after watching the latest videos first. She was so young and beautiful. My mom passed from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. And when they did her brain scan, it showed this big beautiful butterfly, taking up most of her brain from the center out and she passed away. Exactly 2 months later on my third wedding anniversary. I am so sorry for your families loss and I completely agree with Jenny when she said she beat cancer because my mom did too it could no longer manifest in their bodies so it died.

My first husband passed from a brain tumor. When he got sick he always said no tears. He only wants people around that’s happy to see him. No tears . We done that while he was sick.he was sick 9 years. Our God is great. He had a wonderfull life I made sure of it. Our kids are now 39 and 44 they remember him playing music and always happy even while he was in pain.

I want to say that you are beautiful and strong and you've been such a fighter through all of this. I will pray for you to have the strength and grace and comfort you need on this journey.

Same here but 10/25/23 so I am catching up! My nanny (2015-80 years old) and husband (2021-52yeaes old) both passed from the same cancer both smoked since they were very young. My nanny had the cancer removed by lobectomy and tonsillectomy and did not treatments when she was 76 and it returned 3 years later. She lived almost a year with no treatment. They had told her she might gain 1 year but it would be a rough year of treatment to gain that other year. She was very lucky to be relatively healthy and felt pretty good until the last month. She ended up having showers of mini strokes and survived that about a week and passed with a bigger stroke. I was glad the pain and suffering didn’t linger on and on. My husband has a bunch of abdominal surgeries due to a ruptured ulcer and abbess’s. After 4 surgeries and a rough year and severe weight loss his back and hips were hurting him and just weren’t getting better so we inquired, a scan was done and blasting lesions were found on the pelvis. A bone biopsy was done quickly and we were expecting prostate cancer because his dad had it , but we’re were shocked with news it was stage 4 lung cancer that had already spread to the pelvis, spine, collar bone and tailbone. He was a horrible patient, still smoked, did eat right, was already down about 75lbs, was addicted to pain meds due to chronic pain for 15 years, didn’t sleep regular, just over all stubborn and non compliant. But we did radiation and chemo, he continued to lose weight. Ended up going from a man that was 6’3” weighing about 220 to 130lbs and was nothing but bones and that was so painful. He could never take his pain meds correctly and I felt terrible fighting with him over because he did have cancer and it was in the bones and extremely painful. But the doctor literally wouldn’t have ever been able to give him enough meds! It was that bad. It ended up spreading to his liver and ribs and he was in so much unmanageable pain we talked to hospice and we had decided that he was going to sign up with hospice and I honestly think that finally coming to that decision and being so tired of the pain he was at peace with his decision and he actually passed away in his sleep that very next morning. He fought his cancer almost a year from his diagnosis. I hate lung cancer for taking 2 of the. People that I loved the most in this world and I am so sorry you are going through this. My prayers are with you, your husband and children and extended family! It is so very hard to watch your loved one be in pain and suffer. I pray your good days outweigh you bad and you get to enjoy your babies much longer than the doctors think! Sending love and prayers.

Poor Jenny did not get the treatment she deserved at the beginning of this cancer journey and it’s shameful that she had to fight so hard just for a chest scan. Here in the uk we have a ‘two week wait’ system where cancer may be suspected - I had a scare recently and was seen and scanned in that time period from the doctors referral to seeing the consultant with scan results. I’m lucky because it turned out not to be cancer but if it had been at least it would have been caught early. You pay health insurance in the states and for what? Truly shameful that our Jenny was dismissed in this way.

Why? Why does a wonderful person in her 30's with two small children and husband, go through cancer?!? It is inexplicable! These kids have no mother now. There is nothing anyone can say to justify it!!! It's beyond SUCKING!!!! Have appreciated all that she and Kyle shared during her journey. Ugh!!! We need a cure for cancer! This brings me back to losing over half my family for various reasons. I mean, it hurts,as it did then! Only time has helped me. And even with that, it never, never, goes away. You just have to learn to manage it. Kyle, you and your family have you in our hearts! Forever!
