Tiffany started having rib pain but thought it was just a pulled muscle. She then went on a hiking trip and struggled to breathe, feeling short of breath. A lingering cough led to tests and no answers. After a lung collapse and hospitalization, she was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer at 38 with no smoking history or risk factors.

If they can catch it early, it’s probably not a death sentence. that was pretty bad though. She had to have a whole lung removed. Wow, that’s amazing. My father died of cancer about 20 years ago started with a lung, but it metastasized. They removed parts of one of his lungs. The poor man went through so much pain. I wouldn’t wish it on a worst enemy. He was a great man.

It would not have been stage 4 lung cancer then. That is treatable and not curable. Patients are fortunate to survive 5 years on current treatments.

Stress can break down our cells. Anything that enters our body and blood stream can break down those cells. Sugar is a huge culprit that Drs don’t talk about. But cancer cells feed off of sugar. 😮 people don’t eat real foods anymore. They eat processed junk foods. Diet sodas are the worst ! Some sunscreens that have chemicals in them that .. get this.. cause cancer !!! Ugh !

Dear RangerWhite, I am every day trying to get more accepting of the idea that one day we all pass to the next life; we will all walk this path one day. Life is a lottery, eternal life is not. Please read The Gospel of John -1st Chp, as it reveals who Christ was and is. Call on Him please Paul, He will meet you and take you home, regardless of whatever has happened in our lives. See below, Thief on the cross, saw that he was not perfect, saw that JEsus was, knew that he faced death within few hours and asked JEsus to take him home.. Please read.... 39 One of the criminals who was hanging there railed at him, saying, “Aren’t you the Christ? Save yourself and us!” 40 But the other rebuked him, saying, “Don’t you fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation (face imminent death)? 41 And we rightly so, for we are getting what we deserve for what we did, but this man has done nothing wrong (saw Christ's perfection).” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come in your kingdom (he's asking for Jesus to make him right with God The Father).” 43 And Jesus said to him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." Roman's 10:9 'if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus (jesus is The Christ - God in Flesh) and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.' 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by Him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. ...who was 'The Word'?? It is revealed in Verse 14... v14 And the Word was made flesh (human), and dwelt among us (walked on earth), (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. If you can't believe, struggle to believe, ask God 'If you are there, I would love to know you, please speak to me, through these scriptures, which right now I don't believe, or please visit me in a dream...ask God to give you faith' God bless you, I hope to meet you in heaven.

My lung cancer stage 4 ( NSCLC ALK POSITIVE) journey started 8/2016. Pulmonary doc who performed procedure to remove fluid and thoracic surgeon who sealed the plural space and did biopsy, gave me a grim outlook. Maybe 6 months, go get your affairs in order. On my first on oncology appointment, I was offered palliative care, 😊to make me comfortable. I was in post procedure stage, tubes removed, and was functioning well on my own. I said thanks no thanks, I will let things evolve and I do not want to be numb, spacey from pain meds, I want to remain clear headed. I was 64, never smoked, non drinker, led clean life and exercised. I complained of symptoms to primary doctor year earlier. I had an chest X-ray. Both radiologist and primary missed it. At diagnosis year later, which started again at primary’s, another chest X-ray, there was a 10cm growth in between low and middle lobe, and so much fluid buildup, which was causing me to not be able to walk across a room without becoming short of breath. Primary called to give me the results of X-ray, told me to get myself to ER immediately, things can get very, very ugly real soon. That 10 cm growth did not happen in a year, it took years to grow. Anyway, I took no meds for 10 first months, and researched like mad. I read medical papers, journals, clinical trials, boy, I learned a lot. I got rid of the primary. At about 10-11 months no meds, I was doing well, able to take care of myself, and looked and felt better than anyone expected. At that time oncologist who has been doing monthly blood works, put me on meds for my type of mutation. I took full dose for about 2 weeks and it nearly killed my liver. So 6 -8 weeks to heal the liver and gave me next med for my mutation. By now I’ve had 3 meds, and am currently having symptoms and tested, have new mutations, current med is not working. But 6/2016 to date 1/2024, I am here, 7.5 yrs later. 72 yr old female, living alone, taking care of all my needs, active enough to garden, exercise hard, but only in the pool, can’t do it on land, get out of breath. I cook my meals, always tweak ingredients, add or subtract, and keep on researching. I fast 3 to 4.5 days before each month’s blood work. I tell my oncologist I am planting young fruit trees in pots, expecting to be here to enjoy the fruit. You are young, have a family and so much living to do. Don’t live in fear! Fear will kill you before the disease. Learn as much as you can about your type of cancer, mutations. I learned from listening to oncology lecture by a specialist on my type of lung cancer, that 2/3 of her patients can’t handle full dose of meds. I never took a full dose again(oral chemo). Most I would take was 1/2 and when I had sufficient improvement, held steady, I reduced dose to 1/4. I am my own advocate😊. I know how I feel, how I function, recognize when there I changes. I don’t agree to frequent scans. Too much unnecessary radiation. Trust your medical team, but do verify, read, listen to other medical specialists, plenty out there doing public service, via podcasts and recordings of medical lectures. I wish you the best. Be positive, mentally and physically active, be strong. Don’t let your immediate circle of loved ones and friends see you as “cancer” patient, always starting conversation with asking how you feel😊. You are still the same person you were before diagnosis. Do and talk with them about things other than cancer. Don’t let cancer dominate every minute of your day. I shared my diagnosis with only 3-4 immediate family members for almost 4 years. That helped me to not have to deal with everyone’s pity look on their faces and never ending questions of how I feel, plus everyone sharing who they knew that had cancer and who survived or who died. Every cell in your body is listening and reacting to your thoughts. Stay calm, get plenty of rest and sleep, outdoor time. Check vitamin D levels and supplement if below 50. I keep mine at 80-95. Was 17 at diagnosis. Research shows that large number of cancer diagnosed patients had low levels at diagnosis. Sending positive vibes your way. I know you can do this😊

You should be glad and grateful for your cancer, rather than being unthankful and not knowing to appreciate. Otherwise you'd be DEAD already, from such levels of constant intoxication through poisoning. Instead be grateful for your tumours, knowing your body works just as intended and is isolating the toxins by encapsulating them, giving you the time and a chance to radically CHANGE what you drink & diet, and turn things around 180 degrees. First sign will be the tumours turning from rock-solid to morbid, next comes the shrinking till gone.

I have a similar story, I was an ER nurse, working part time as a set medic on a movie location. I developed a weird cough that I knew wasn’t COVID because I had to take a test every 48 hours to work on the set. End of October 2020, start of COVID crisis. Had an X-ray, showed a change, ct showed a mass. Bronchoscope inconclusive , MRI, finally got an email on my hospital portal on Christmas eve. Lung cancer. Merry Christmas. January, r sided robotic bilobectomy in Denver. 4 months of chemotherapy included 4 critical care admits for sepsis (SIRS) including 2 emergency ambulance rides. Interstitial lung disease, A-fib. A year 2021 in the hospital or bed on O’s. Another year getting out of bed and working towards recovery. My wife and daughter wouldn’t let me die and neither would my colleagues, doc’s and fellow nurses. Now I’m in Mexico living on the beach, doing fine. 2 years clear. Wish you the best.

Lost my mum 2 years ago. She was 73. The Doctor diagnosed Asthma over the phone during Covid lockdown. She kept saying she couldn't breath but the Doctor kept on saying she was okay. 14 months later she had a serious seizure and was rushed to be hospital only to find her lungs riddled with cancer which had spread to her spine and brain. What makes things worse is that when the hospital informed her doctor she was terminally ill, a few days later we received a doctor referral from the hospital. Due to the fact that this showed they were attempting to cover their arses for mis-diagnosis I'm now suing them for every penny they have and will donate anything we get to brain and lung cancer charities in memory of my Mum. Never trust your GP in the UK.

Cancer is unfair, cruel and evil? Hm .. is it? Perhaps the deeds & behaviour of mankind are !!!! Understanding can only come from wisdom and knowledge. The cause of cancer is always poison and just as one can't fight fire with fire, it's impossible to fight poison with poison. The poison causing cancer can come in different shapes, it could be radiation, heck even exceeding hormone levels can be toxic for the body, or a rotten/infected tooth or gums, but usually it's in what you eat and drink. Your Mum should be glad and grateful for every tumour she has, it means her body works as intended by isolating and encapsulating what it is unable to dissolve, giving her plenty of time to radically change course. I know what i'm talking about from firsthand experience, i was stage4 terminal, all the quacks claimed i be toast within weeks, and yet against all odds, here i am 13 years later, clean of disease and healthier than ever before.

Listening to your story is like listening to my daughter’s story. She started having shoulder and arm pain February/March of 2023. She was working as a CNA at the time and just thought that she had pulled a muscle. When it didn’t heal up she finally went to see a chiropractor just in case she may have tweaked something in her back. Before he did any adjustments he took an x-ray and found a mass in the upper apex of her left lung. It turned out to be a lung cancer of unknown origin. An MRI at a later date showed 2 very small lesions on her brain. She had Gamma Knife surgery on the lesions on her brain and as of now, January 2024 the brain is clear. She went through 2 rounds of chemotherapy and a month’s worth of daily radiation. Her most recent MRI showed a slight enlargement of the tumor and it has wrapped itself around nerves and has invaded the chest wall. Now they have her on immunotherapy which has left her extremely fatigued. She spends 24 hours a day in bed because she is so tired. My heart is breaking, it’s so hard to not give up hope. I pray that things improve for you and your family. Numbers 6:24-26

@@hollyharris1874 My father did the same. We knew he was saving his medication for when he felt the time was right. So before his condition had deteriorated to the point he was incapacitated, he made his decision. He didn't tell us, or anyone. But that day my mother said they had the best visit (he was in a nursing home at that time). He rallied all his strength to give that last day to her. They talked, laughed, retold all the old stories. They even took a brief walk in the gardens. She went home that night and he must have taken his saved up medicine. I think I've never seen someone so strong as my father. He faced death unafraid and on his own terms. And he gave my mom one last wonderful day to remember. Don't listen to people who tell you that people who face death on their own terms are sinful or condemned to hell. My father was a man of strong faith and nothing demonstrated that as much as his acceptance of his end. God, the God I worship, is a loving, compassionate God. I've stopped freaking out about whether I should buy a new frying pan, plant bulbs, loose weight or give it one more try on the soul mate issue. I had a 5.2 psa in late 21 and went on active surveillance...in early 2024 my psa had increased to 9.1 and my urologist suggested radiation. Just prior to this I had begun researching alternative possibilities to treat cancer. I wish I had started earlier. They put me on radiation treatments which I have just completed. In my case, it's a 95% cure rate and they wanted to start quickly. One of the treatments I was researching was Fenbendazole, which came to light by Joe Tippens, who was diagnosed with lung cancer and numerous tumors throughout his body and essentially given a death sentence. He was advised by a vet to begin taking Fenbendazole; used in horses and cattle for deworming...similar to Ivermectin. Joe had already been scheduled for a chemo clinical trial, but started on the fenbendazole without letting the doctors know. The trial was not designed to cure, but to extend life for a few months. All participants in the trial passed away within a few months. This was 5 plus years ago and Joe is cancer free. He regularly gets his psa checked and continues to take Fenben as he calls it. My Urologist and Radiologist had never heard of it, which just goes to show that in the Cancer treating field, there is very little interest in the word 'alternative.' This is just one example. I'm not saying it will cure you, but it won't hurt you either. If Joe's story is a hoax, it's a damn big and well organized one. I would also advise that you convince yourself that there is a cure and start researching this and other possibilities like Ivermectin, Dichloroacetate, Chaga mushrooms as a start. Your body reacts to your mind and a positive 'I can beat this' attitude will go a long way. Good luck! You can find various KZbin posts with Joe Tippens. He's worth a listen.

Malignant mesothelioma, here. Was given 6 months by my oncologist. It’s the 6th month and I’m still here. Currently undergoing immunotherapy with two very powerful drugs. Some say side effects are worse than chemo. I lost vision in my left eye, due to inflammation, which took two months to resolve with steroids. Lots of pain and stiffness in both knees and neck, again due to inflammation. Immunotherapy “amps up” the immune system, so inflammation is always a potential problem. Just had a CT scan, which showed a 30% reduction in tumor size, so that’s reassuring. Never give up and realize that you have a much better chance in fighting cancer with a positive attitude.

Stage IV prostate cancer here. Had sepsis in March of 2022 due to urinary blockage. Nearly died. Was admitted to ICU. Left hospital 10 days later and sent to rehab. Released from rehab 21 days after sepsis diagnosis. Cancer was not suspected. Was released with an indwelling catheter. Urologist tried to wean me from the catheter, but I was blocked. Gave me a digital rectal exam that suggested prostate cancer. Ordered an MRI. MRI wasn't conclusive. Ordered a biopsy. Biopsy showed cancer in all 12 sectors. A PET scan was ordered to determine how far it had spread. PET scan showed it had spread to the lymph system and possibly to the rib and thyroid. I was immediately put on a monthly Firmagon injection. PSA went down to less than 1. Three months later switched to Eligard injection and Xtandi pills. PSA is now less than 0.080. Still had recurrent UTIs. In hospital with UTIs two more times in 2022 and once at the end of 2023. Finally had green light laser in October of 2023 to open up a urinary pathway. I'm open now enough to have a strong stream of urine, but I have to go every hour on the hour. I changed my diet to eliminate sugar, starches, and animal fat. No red meat. Only salmon, sardines, fruit, vegetables, garlic, onions, beans, nuts, and berries. I'm regaining my strength. I'm no longer taking finasteride or tamsulosin. 6 years ago I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Small Cell Lung Cancer, I smoked like a chimney for 40 years but when I was diagnosed I had been a non-smoker for 10 years, the course of treatment was to remove my left lung but during the surgery it was only necessary to remove the lower lobe of the affected left lung, I was very fortunate to have The Thoracic Surgery Team at Stanford Hospital led by Professor/Dr. Shraeger perform the surgery, after the surgery, 16 weeks of Chemo once a week and then 30 rounds of Radiation over 30 days, not long ago I passed my 5 years clear which is a huge milestone for this type of Cancer, and my odds look good for the next 15 years. Many wonderful things have happened over these last 6 years, I have learned much about myself and through Prayer and Meditation I have made a strong personal connection with my Higher Power and I have learned that all my actions and thoughts are to be Guided by Love, Selflessness, Compassion, Gentleness and Gratitude. May Peace and Serenity be with All of Us Always.✌❤🤗

I know...well I knew 5 people with lung cancer. Not ONE of them had ever smoked. Not ONE of them had lived in a home where they were exposed to second hand smoke. This is really becoming very common among young people too, especially in the last 3 years. Im certain that if we looked, we would surely see a common factor. I hope that, somehow, you are able to find a treatment that will work for you quickly, and that you are able to tolerate it well.

So, here I am, waiting for a cat scan - my NP casually mentioned to me at the end of my last appointment that when a chest xray was done before my angiogram, they discovered something they were not looking for - a mass. I have had rib pain for about a month and a half and difficulty taking a deep breath. Scares the "you know what" out of me! I am hoping for good news and I will keep YOU in my prayers. You have a lovely family and you are far too young to have to struggle with this disease. Blessings dear girl!

My good friend was also diagnosed with lung cancer. She suffered for 9 months. Literally suffered and no one listened to her. She bleed for about 6 months. The doctors were treating her for blood clots. One morning at work she was crying in pain and blood pouring down her legs, I took her forklift keys off her and told her to go to the hospital and not leave until she had answers. I had to growl at her. They put her in isolation for TB. She was in there nearly 2 weeks and that's when they found the cancer even though they had already tested for it. She passed away 2 days later. Rest easy Cherie 🙏

I am very sorry for your loss. 🙏🏻 I know what it is like for everything to happen so fast. My mom was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in early October of 2014, and we lost her less than two months later on November 30. One of her first oncologists told us 12-18 months, but turned out to be way off. I don't know if it's better that she didn't suffer longer or not, but I really wish I had those months I expected. I was researching everything to see if there was any way I could help her, but her form of cancer was very aggressive. She smoked and had a constant cough for over a year and I don't think her primary ever ordered exam. I wish I would have pushed her to get an exam. I don't know if it would have helped. She was the sweetest person and only 65.

I'm saddened that a young and vivacious mom like Tiffany has been afflicted with this disease. What isn't surprising is the fact that her physicians missed the signs. Without disparaging the industry, in today's health care delivery environment MDs can find it challenging to spend the time to clinically rule out every causative sign. (Unfortunately, some follow "cookbook medicine" akin to following a flow chart rather than looking at all possibility, crucial with lung cancer which may be difficult to detect early.) It is also up to the patient to monitor their own health by listening to their bodies and following up with a doctor that is also your advocate. This doesn't make you a hypochondriac.

My father had Micobacterium Avium Complex (MAC). It can look and behave very much like Tuberculosis. He was misdiagnosed until finally Dr. Earl King from Fox Chase (he is not there anymore) diagnosed him accurately. Dr. King I feel gave my father back the last decade of his life and it was a quality 10 years. Dr. King spent a LOT of time with his patients just getting to know them! He would be in with my elderly dad for sometimes over an hour, part of which was talking about LIFE and their families. Drs. just do not get to spend time. Why on earth would this poor woman have gone so long without a simple chest Xray. Like seriously. On another note, I want to be a believer in miracles. I've seen close loved ones pass from cancer, I also have a friend 20 years out from an ovarian cancer diagnosis who beat it back with a macrobiotoc diet and lifestyle. Her odds were stacked against her, and it has returned but she has outlived her cancer cohort by 20 years. I just want to see this precious mother survive this to be with her children. There are new immuno boosting drugs now. I just pray they can beat this back. Beautiful young family.

This irritates me so bad that hospitals say it takes 10 - 14 days to get biopsy tissue results back. It does not take that long. If the hospital is worth a crap they will have the immunohistology stains to get a diagnosis in hours! This patient's hospital and doctors failed her!

I used to work at a hospital. I discovered a lump and first tried to convince myself it was a cyst even though I had experienced a couple different cysts previously and this didn't feel like either of those, but some of us don't want to face what we fear. Within two weeks it was noticable that it had grown. Contacted the doctor and got in same day due to a cancellation. I was able to get a needle aspiration that day and a mammogram scheduled for first thing the next morning. By the next afternoon they not only had those results but was scheduled for surgery in 3 days. That would never happen today because everything is going backwards. Because of how socialized our medical system is they have developed so many protocols that you may have to wait not days but weeks to get some tests or be referred to a specialist. And then the wait time for surgery or the start of treatment can be worse. But it isn't just medicine. Did you know that cars used to get better mileage and they also used to last longer. Or did you know that when cell phones came out the sound was more clear than it is now. Or that when businesses first started using computers they would have someone there to fix them immediately instead of the waiting up to 72 hours once you submitted the request. Whether it was technology, medicine, cars or customer service we have passed our peak performance and are in decline. Exceptions? A couple. Restoration of electrical service when there is an outage. Growing up in a rural area I remember there would be a few outages a year that would be over a week but most were only days. Now people get unhinged if it is a full day. Online delivery is still remarkably fast even though almost anything you order is lesser quality since it usually comes from China.

She was an active horsewoman, never smoked or drank alcohol and ate really well. From diagnosis to her death was only 2 weeks. We were all totally shocked . There were no familial instances of it that we knew of. I wondered if it could have been chemically induced because, like a lot of people nowadays, she loved scented candles and also had a lot of plug in air fresheners in the home. I can’t think of anything else to explain it
