Great video Stevie! I like how you mentioned the vibe of the track is important and that certain ones sell more. I think one of the most important but tedious things as musicians is our ability to detach our personal feelings from the songs when it comes to commercializing our music. It’s something that I’ve definitely learned a lot from writing trailer music too. “We have to try and sell the trailer not my music”. So thanks for pointing that out for Lofi tracks because I have a natural tendency to lean towards a melancholic/sad vibe! Lol

Thanks for watching Stefano! I think melancholic vibes can work for licensing too they just might not get the same kind of action that the positive tunes get, that’s been my experience with it anyways. Cheers!

Amazing video, as always, Steve. I’m a huge fan of your Lofi vibe and I admittedly try to copy that when I’m writing my own music 😬. Thanks for showing us what’s under the hood of your wonderful tracks. May this new album bring you a lot of downloads and a nice income boost.

Thanks so much man! You’re welcome to copy my vibe anytime, but you don’t need to cuz you got plenty of your own my friend 👊

Hey Steve, Lofi Hiphop is absolutely not my genre but these are the kinds of videos we all long for. Opening sessions and showing stuff is rare but helpful! Just great man, thanks so much! Cheers, Andy

Thanks for watching Andy! I know it’s not everyone’s favourite subject but I love talking about lofi haha, just fun to write it and mess with sounds 😊

Awesome Video Steve! I think this made the distinction between "Study Beats" and licensable LoFi a bit easier for me, which is something that always held me back from writing this kind of music for Libraries! Also I think I'll give Arcade a try 🧐
@Steven_Beddall2 жыл бұрын
Nice, def give Arcade a spin, it’s fun to use!

Do you have videos on how to set up templates for Lofi?
@Steven_Beddall2 жыл бұрын
Not yet but that's a great idea, thanks!
@el-bov8034 Жыл бұрын
Interestign to watch a few of your track breakdowns and note you don't seem to use a main template. Are you fresh-starting everyproject or do you have some templates fixed for specific genres. Also, guessing you're using audio for the drums (bounced down from MIDI) to allow for easy processing of each element. Or is it some other reason. I know it's an older video, so doubt you'll get to see the comment. but thought it was worth a try. Thanks for all the great info :)

Love the videos ! I was wondering if your course is suitable for a new producer been Logic for 4-5 years and want to produce my own music to play live in a band situation - does the course lend itself to this ? Can I join and have a look around and see if it’s suitable ? ❤️😎❤️😎
