I'm so glad I discovered your channel. I'm recently laid off and spinning my wheels, trying transition into QA let alone just finding a job. This market can be very discouraging. Thanks for sharing this with us.

I'm sorry to hear about your recent layoff. I'm in the same boat but I hope you land back on your feet soon somewhere that you love :)

Hey Kim, just finished watching your video. I've been in QA for over 2 years now, looking to transition into test automation. I tailored my resume and managed to get 3+ interviews after diligently applying to lots of test automation jobs. Anything is possible, just put in the work and the universe will sort itself out eventually!

ayyyyyy that's AWESOME 👏! I'm so happy for you! I definitely think tailoring the resume helps a lot to get those hits on keywords from the job listing but I never really got the hang of it. Glad you got some bites. Have you had your interviews yet? If not, I hope you KILL it and get multiple offers. Keep me updated ok?!! 💪🏾❤️

Heyy Kim. So I just found this channel and it is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. I'm kinda new to QA - I actually stumbled into it last year around this time for my third year CompScie project. I've found a few helpful videos on QA but your channel really resonates with my current journey. I love it so far but ngl, the job market is brutal. I'm currently interviewing for Automation Engineer graduate program with this cool company here in South Africa, I feel like we are a good match values-wise but I'm kinda concerned that I might get rejected cause I've been getting rejection letters so much that I'm desensitized to them😂💀💀

Hey! So glad you found my videos and that it resonates with you. It's definitely hard out here but the fact that you've got an interview is GREAT! I hope it goes well because the program will definitely help unlock and open doors for you. Also, I'm happy to hear there are programs like that in South Africa! Don't let the rejections scare you, literally everyone is getting it right now and it's not a reflection of you or your capabilities. That door has to close for the right one to open ,don't forget that. Best of luck, let me know if I can help in anyway :)

This is a great video! I completely agree about keeping the resume text without any of the styling. Great tips!

Thaaanks a lot for the video! I do have a QA job at the moment, but really don't like the company and outdated tech they are using. Trying to switch jobs, but this year, the amount of responses to my CV has dropped drastically! It is indeed very demoralising :( Very tough market. Improving my API testing skills at the moment, and need to work on soft skills for these interviews for sure. Will go to tweak CV with your tips. Already kept it at two pages only. Hard to stay productive, with this situation. Was never worried about the job before this year.

Looking for a job while you have one is definitely the least stressful. And yes, the market is tough. Do you have a Linkedin and have it up to date? That'll definitely help take some of the pressure off of looking, since hopefully if its updated and has the right keywords / skills, recruiters will come to you. Glad this video was helpful but if you have any other questions, please be sure to ask happy to help anyway I can :)

Also I’m embarrassed to apply to a job again with the refined resume lol . I think they’ll think I’m weird or not honest.
@KimbuuchaАй бұрын
I'd do it anyway honestly. It's mostly computers filtering through them first anyway (or so I've been told).

I think I’ve gone wrong with the AI assist and it’s too long . I’m new to the field and it’s so overwhelming trying to get traction. I’m doing a lot of training to learn automation, I don’t use it for user acceptance testing 😢 whew
@Kimbuucha2 ай бұрын
I can definitely understand how overwhelming and frustrating it might be but take it one thing at a time. User acceptance testing is adjacent, so make sure you have that highlighted on your resume!

What is the fate of beginner in this field?The competition is not funny.
@Kimbuucha2 ай бұрын
@@ebubefavour734 I don't see too many junior or entry level jobs in my search however, I'm sure they're out there. If you truly want to get into QA and are a beginner, I will say the gaming industry is always hiring for entry level testers. That's how I got my start. But there are definitely some cons to that industry. In your job search though, if you focus on looking for analyst or junior level QA as a part of your keyword search, those tend to lean more beginner level without requiring experience. Hope that helps and seriously, best of luck on your search
