Honestly, this fragrance is iconic. It requires confidence from its wearer. Aventus alone is just too easy. This is one which leaves people craving more because it is unique, so long as you leave a certain impression.

I recently bought my first bottle of Bois du Portugal . Pleasantly surprised , it’s becoming one of my favorite ever perfume . I’m now favoring it over Royal oud ..I also feel that Royal oud was made based on bois du Portugal structure or base ..thank you Mr.Smelly

Great video. Still also my number 1 frag of all time. I have two 100ml bottles in my collection (2020 and 2021); unfortunately, both have the new label and fairly sure the ambergris has been removed as a note now. This diminishes the dry down which is no longer as “creamy” and the longevity suffers a bit too. That notwithstanding, still no other fragrance I prefer to douse myself with than this masterpiece.

Years ago, when I owned and wore Bois du Portugal, I felt absolutely ravishing. It felt like a luxury and prestige that I hadn't experienced in my tough working class upbringing. I wanted so much to embody this aura of sophistication and class in my late 20s, to distance myself from what seemed to be more pedestrian and coarse. I bought into the myth of Creed, hook line and sinker, and wore a number of their fragrances, with Bois du Portugal seeming to be the culmination of what Creed offered. 16 or more years later, I would then discover the work of Patricia de Nicolai, and her New York Intense would turn out to be an even more refined approach to this style, at least to my nose, feeling even more refined and elegant. However, Bois du Portugal will always be a fond memory of a time that I was searching myself, before all the wisdom, when everything was new and exciting, in terms of my exploration in fragrance and in the world in general.

About a month ago, I went to Nordstroms and asked to try Bois du Portugal. The girl working said oh this is something you have to wear a few times....so she makes me 3 vial samples. I absolutely fell in love with the fragrance (and the girl in a way) I only own Green Irish Tweed, which I like a lot (like aventus and hymilaya alright...rest are just okay), but Bois Du Portugal is magic. It's not something lightly I'll buy cause Creed prices, but it's full bottle worthy

I've had a decant for quite a while. I usually wear it around the house when in the mood. I usually don't find the right time to wear it. My suit and shirt days are over, but I would rock it if I still worked in an office setting. Fantastic frag, so no hate from me. Don't know if it's true, but it being a favorite of Sinatra just makes it better. Enjoy & Merry Christmas 🎄

I bought a 100ml bottle of BdP from Creed's Mount Street store in 2017 and finished it in 2019. I loved it for about 6 months, liked it for another 6 months and spent the rest of my 2 year ownership period feeling that it was too much of a good thingand that it was too dated and so "lavenderised" that only Miss Marple could endure it. I have a theory that Sinatra's alleged devotion to this frag safeguarded him from "sleeping with the feeshes" because the aroma of BdP was so strong that the Mafiosi hit men couldn't bear to get close enough to Frank to bump him off: perhaps Creed sould market it as an invisibility shield! Despite finishing my bottle, 4 years ago in 2019, whoever I open a certain wardrobe door, the indestructible BdP fragrance still hits me like a scent-tsunam - not so much Nania as olfactory maniai!!

The old fashioned vibe about classic fragrances is because they are made of mostly natural organic ingredients and real flowers. Nothing like the modern day artificialy chemical concoctions that are now created for the mass commercial market.

Rarely doI agree with such a strong view on a fragrance. I whole heartedly agree. Bois Du Portugal is hands down my favorite scent. I have the entire Creed collection of scents except for Viking and Jardin d Almafi. I ended up with a flacon and a 100ml bottle of BDP. That’s how I determined it’s my favorite. It’s the scent I’ve spent the most on with GIT coming in a close second. Awesome review.

That intro 🤣 But yeah, Bourdon a genius in his own right. Can't deny that I didn't appreciate BdP originally, but I suppose I grew up. A top 5 Creed 4 life. I'll be upset if flankers suddenly appear. Unless they're well done. Cause if I smell one IOTA of Sauvage, BdC, BR540 or some other sweet woody amber molecule......I swear I'll stick ALL my Creeds in a picture frame.....

I will tell you the funny story, I am from Poland, we were living in communism for many years, out dads and grandpas had the same cheap cologne called Brutal (still available on the market). You can find it in every drug store somewhere on the bottom on the shelves (the cheapest fragrance) and it smells very simillar to Bois de Portugal (but is more masculine). 😂
