As someone who has an off leash Jack Russel, reactivity can certainly be conquered (to an extent). It’s by no means easy with certain breeds, but it can be done.

Jack Russell is a high-level of difficulty. Lucky they have great personalities.

Jason: I want to ask this question very diplomatically because I like your videos, and also because you and Kara seem to me like you are both very nice, good, friendly, responsible people. Is it legal in the counties where you live to let your dogs off leash in your neighborhood & on local public trails? Most counties, cities, and public spaces in my region (the west coast) have strict leash laws.

I always carry a knife too, for cutting. I have to admit, I am having no luck coming up with a scenario in which someone dumb enough to attack you when you have JJ and BW with you and a knife will be useful. I have other items for that, and they have only come in to play when someone's dog was trying to hurt mine. Fortunately, I have an unwelcoming demeanor and a firm voice, which helps the unaware to overcome most of their flaws. I am don't take silly chances. There is a couple in my neighborhood who have an Ovarchka, and I am sure they have had one or two before. Everything I have seen speaks well of their upbringing and training, but I don't get out of the car to talk to them and if I have one of the dogs, stay on the other side of the street. The tough thing about that is Ted is fascinated with other dogs and does very well, but ... no thanks.

I don't always have the dogs with me but with them yeah nobody coming up to me to rob me. But I also live out in the country and you never know if a rabid coyote or something could run up on us either. Always good to have on hand as a multi purpose tool.

Hey Jason i have a 8yo Corso named Kino he is an old soul but doesn't like when i brush his teeth. What are some solutions i can use to get my boys breath smelling good and teeth healthy ?

have you tried using coconut oil as toothpaste? thats the only way i can brush my boy's teeth lol

Dietary change could help for sure. I have never brushed a dogs teeth the entire 45 years I have been on this planet.

Hello Jason. I have a question. Why do you use those type of leashes and not a harnest? dont using the leashes you use choke the dogs?

Harnesses encourage pulling because it makes your dog comfortable to pull. Harnesses are for working dogs or small breeds that are susceptible to tracial collapse. Dogs respond better to a collar, chain or prongs. “Control the head ,the rest follows.

Harnesses are equivalent to pulling devices. They do nothing to control a dog. A slip lead does not choke a dog unless they are pulling. A prong collar does not choke a dog but will correct them if pulling. If I am off leash I still need a leash so hence a slip lead easily fits in my pocket and doesn't weigh me down.

When your dogs were just puppies and you left them home alone while you went out shopping, were they free to run around the house or did you keep them in a crate?

CRATE 100! If not your absolutely setting your dog up for failure and it will set you back in your training. 17 months is when they started to free roam and it was a slow process.

Do you carry poop bags or do you leave their poop on the grass?

Here they poop and it stays....it is out in the country....they never poop on the cement......but be careful because you will often times find 10+ lbs of horse poop in the middle of the cement and that is no fun to step in.

I don’t care how well trained your dogs are, just knowing that this breed has the potential to do major harm to people or other animals should be enough for you to keep them on a leash. You look nervous af, looking over your shoulder, that someone might be coming your way

There are places where that would be a no go, and I don't go there. New York has a long history of being hostile to personal defense (I grew up about 80 miles from where the Coreys live). I am a prosecutor and retired LE, so I have a very different perspective and practices based on my experiences.
