THE PURPOSE OF THIS VIDEO IS EDUCATIONAL. I am currently rapid tapering from Zyprexa and experiencing withdrawal effects. I also talk about the drug Respiridone, or Risperdal and lactation. Atypical antipsychotics are powerful major tranquilizers that should only be taken in extreme circumstances.

You have a fantastic sense of humor and give me hope. I was on a few psyche meds for about 6 months. Had a horrible experience. I have been off that shit for 4 months now. I have bad memories of the side effects, and my experience with psychiatrists. They say they want to help but they simply cause more harm.

Thanks for your video! You present so well. Alive and vivacious it doesn't seem like you are on olanzapine! Sorry to hear about your misdiagnosis. I too was misdiagnosed but i have been on olanzapine for 22 years. I have just gone off 5mg cold turkey. I only had about three days of high anxiety but i got through it and feel so much better for it. Im amazed at how quickly i got through it after 22 years! My sense of well being has improved, i should have done this years ago. My advice is just stop taking it cold turkey and bunker down until you get through the transition. But i see this video is three years old so i assume you are well and truly clean now from olanzapine. Thanks again for your video and sharing your amazing personality with us :)

Thank you for sharing. I was told 5mg was the lowest dose. After 2 years I am nearly blind in one eye, have terrible mental confusion, have a csf leak and now cannot sleep and going crazy...two months after quitting. I started taking it to sleep as I was being harassed regularly. My Dr. knew that and still prescribed it. My life is in shambles and nobody will help me. But, I am grateful for your video. @@Rising497 wooow I'm surprise.... your doctor doesn't know what he's talking about, even if you have been taking it for 6 months, stopping it abruptly is really dangerous, what you are feeling are the withdrawal effects which happens when you stop taking and that is why doctors usually make people stop taking it by lowering the dose every few months so you.

@experience If you're a doctor, you're clearly not a good one. You say 'it's in the head'.. well your head must be empty. Olanzapine makes people become dependant on it for sleep, if you miss a dose you just cant sleep. So please explain to me what is the difference between 'addiction' and 'dependant'? Its the same thing, just different words! You want evidence? Take olanzapine for a week and then try to quit! I was put on this horrible drug 2 months ago by a ridiculous psychiatrist after going in for ACUTE INSOMNIA. This is a powerful Antipsychotic and should have never been prescribed to me for Acute insomnia.. doctors these days are amateurs as you have proven by your amateur comment.

@@strictlynotraitors8004 So many doctors have told me that Zyprexa isn't addictive. They define addiction as needing a higher dose to get the same effect. My autistic son was on too many meds from his past doctor. He became violent and the doctor just added more meds! Olanzapine was added so he would sleep. I changed his doctors to help him.. The new doctor removed all of the past doctor's meds because that doctor saw him have a seizure. All except olanzapine. He was given this med to sleep. But as a parent I don't see him being himself...flat line mood and confused. He has fallen asleep two nights in a row with out it. During the day he hasn't changed. Listening to you, he would be better weening off this medication. I will start by 1/2 dose and contact his doctor for advice. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Yes, please stop the Olanzapine, imho. It will destroy him metabolically (weight gain, heart disease, insulin dysregulation, diabetes), cognitively, emotionally (flattened, apolitical) and likely give him a movement disorder with involuntary movements long term. It took my brain over 1.5 years to return to near baseline bc it blocks/damages nerves for that long. Antipsychotics are not sleeping pills. DM me if you want on Instagram davison.video (the smaller account). Sending love and strength!!!! 🤍🤍

I’m currently withdrawing from olanzepine 5mg down from 10 mg. I’ve only been on it for about 2 weeks. The doctor prescribed me mirtazapine 15 mg because olanzepine gave me very uncomfortable movement issues. So my taper plan is to do 5 mg olanzepine and 7.5 mg mirtazapine for 6 days then lower the olanzepine to 2.5 mg for 6 days then down to 1.25mg for 6 days and just stop there. I was misdiagnosed and also still dealing with covid brain inflammation and invega monthly injections which going off of them it’s been 19 months and im still not recovered. Thanks for making this video. I drug tested negative for thc and the doctor ignored that fact and said I had cannabis induced psychosis and I was forced to take invega monthly injections and I tested negative for schizophrenia. The last 2 years of recovery plus getting covid plus now another antipsychotic have been absolute hell. I have hope I’ll eventually recover but all I can say is Damn.

I'm on 3.21mg right now. I'll reach 2.5mg by February 20, 2023. Using the 2.5% brassmonkey slide taper where you do a 2.5% drop for a week for 4 weeks and on the last reduction hold it for more weeks (basically holding it for 3 weeks) and then repeat the cycle. I'm using a water taper method putting a 5mg olanzapine tablet in 50ml water in a small (4oz) brown glass jar with lid. I leave it in there for 30 mins to an hour, or longer if I like. With a 5mg olanzapine tablet in 50ml water, 10ml equals 1mg. I take it out, stir it with a straw so it all gets evenly distributed, and then take my dose. And I'll reach 2mg by April 27, 2023. I hope once I reach 2.5 or 2mg and below I'll be able to use psychedelics again. Olanzapine is known to block the trip. So hoping I can get it to a low enough level so I can use psychedelics again. They do so much more for your mental health than Olanzapine/antipsychotics and SSRIs/antidepressants ever did for me.

I went from 1 mg of Risperidal to .5mg of Risperidal daily to 40 mg of Geodon in 4 years and then now I'm down to .375mg risperidone. You have to cut a half and take it then cut the other half and take half of that to get .375mgs. So it may take time but you can move your way down from higher doses to lower doses. I don't know if I will be able to get off of it yet. But time is your friend when coming off these kinds of drugs. And some say you should only reduce by 10% every month.

You need to be patient, but I know it's hard and I sympathize with you. Take turmeric 550mg (day) and Lion's Mane mushroom (night - 1g) daily. I also take a Vitamin C and D combo (1000 mg). I recommend you get a jeweler's scale and taper gradually, not alternating doses. It will keep your body and blood levels in a more gradual slope that way. Also, survivingantidepressants.org is an incredible resource for tapering and sleep advice. Good luck!

I think you stopped the taper too early. You have to be really careful especially at doses 2.5mg and below because you will be more sensitive to withdrawals. If you CT at a low dose, it will be extremely hard for your body/nervous system to recover from the side effects/withdrawal symptoms from that. I would advise you to go back to 2.5mg and continue the taper and don't do that again.

I was put on Olanzapine for 3 years because I sometimes had ticks? Why the hell did I take it for that long? And I was even prescribed 10mg at the start! It never really fixed the ticks, and the ticks where only a minor things, but the psychiatrist told me to use them. I gained a lot of weight, and I started having bad symptoms from it. I After a few months I didn't take them for 3 days, but didn't sleep at all. Got back on them. I stopped taking them one month ago now, because I was having very bad nerve pain most days. It started on the Olanzapine, and got more and more often, so I wanted to stop! I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep so I got quetiapine so I could sleep. I slept and all, which was good. But I started getting stomach issues every morning and sometimes throughout the day. I just thought it would get better and it was either withdrawal from Olanzapine or some symptoms of quetiapine. Then after two weeks I got diarrhea for a whole week, and after that I had constant stomach and gut pain. On the third day after that, after I ate a meal I got some insanely intense stomach pain and cramps. It was HORRIBLE! Then I thought I would try and not eat food for a few days, to see if that would help. After sleeping for around 3-4 hours I would wake up with the intense pain and cramping, which was even worse than before. Same things next day. Then on the third day, I tried drinking only probiotic drinks, which made me feel a bit better throughout the day. But that night I didn't even get to sleep since the pain and cramps started earlier in the night and laster for around 12 hours. After lying for 6 hours in agonizing pain, sweat and almost unable to breath I called 911. The doctors checked me and told me not to take quetiapine. It then stopped me from having the insane stomach pain and cramps. But I still had constant pain in stomach and guts. And after I then stopped taking quetiapine I got something new. Insane constant nausea. I haven't eaten food for 6 days now. I throw up just drinking a glass of water, I have to only consume a tiny bit at a time. And even then I can get gag reflexes. The gag reflexes and insane nausea can come out of nowhere! And often happen if I stand up quickly, bend down or lay down. I haven't been able to almost consume anything these last couple of days! I lost 9kg in a month. Because of these antipsychotics I gained 17-19 kg over 3 years. I slept for 12-16 hours everyday, I HAD to eat 200-300g chocolate EVERYDAY, otherwise I couldn't function. It made me have the worst 3 days in my life in terms of pain. I didn't sleep for 4 days because the sleeping pill the hospital gave me instead didn't work for me. I really hope I get better and can get out of this shit! Fuck that stupid psychiatrist for making me take Olanzapine! I was able to sleep fine before I got on it. Now I'll maybe never sleep again without some drug helping me. :( I just want to be drug free! But Olanzapine might have screwed me over for good. :( At least after stopping Olanzapine, my thinking has improved. I'm more myself.

So I came to watch this video because I’ve missed a few doses of olanzapine and am going through withdrawal (feeling very sick). However, you mentioned dystonia. For years since I was 14 and admitted to a psych ward and they put me on respiradone I’ve had these twitches (fast involuntary head movements) but I never put the two and two together. Could the respiradone be the cause of my twitching? My twitches are very noticeable to the point people joke that I have tourettes. Anyway, I’m feeling very ill, it’s 3:30am and I can’t sleep and I feel like I’m going to vomit. I feel horrible.

I have been on 2.5mg for 3 months now...still have pain in my joints, had tests done for inflammation of my joints...tests came back fine...still hanging in there with the sleeping...not sleeping well...but refuse to increase it again...yes I think it causes brain damage...i do not think, feel, memory in non-existant, slow, no personality...but the damage is done now...all i can do is keep moving forward...hope to reduce it done to zero within the next year....i wish you luck...but fast tapering would not be wise..i notice after being on the same level for 3 months i then begin getting strong symptoms again..dont know why..so i will stay on 2.5mg another 3 months...i hope is helpful and wish you all the best..cheers

Hi, sorry to hear this story, but I am on the same boat! Was put on olanzapine 12 years ago due to an acute anxiety episode due to a medical mal praxis, and tried a few times to tapper very slowly, but could not. Three months ago, after getting bloodwork done and after years of slow taper to 1.25 I jumped off. 10 days later it all begun, INSOMNIA, FLU LIKE PAINS, SWEATING AT NIGHT HEADACHES EYE PAIN MEMORY SCREWED UP JOINT PAIN MUSCLE PAIN DIARREA ABDOMINAL PAIN LIGHTHEADINESS, DIZZINESS etc. I have have some days like a wave maybe better but then back again. It allways hits me full blown in the evening, it is like my brain has a clock programmed. Would appreciate any suggestions or just let me know if all this sounds familiar to you!!! Hope you write your book! Take care!
@DavisonVideo
@DavisonVideo 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is very familiar and just be patient!! We're here for you!! Your healing will take place at first rapidly for 6 months and then slow but continue until at least 18 months thereafter. Advice: ride the waves, know they are temporary and that your nervous system is healing, which it will keep on doing!! The withdrawal symptoms are a good sign that your nervous system is reactivating, clearing nerve receptor blockades and healing. Do as much physical activity as you can (1-2 hour walks, HIIT training if you can), consider saunas and red light therapy to heal mitochondrial damage and adopt a lower carb diet to speed fat loss, which I believe is in part where Olanzapine is stored. If you are having problems sleeping, drink camomile tea, 2 bags, at night. Get adequate vitamin D and C to help heal tissues! Hot and cold shower therapy (hydrotherapy) will also help: essentially anything stimulating the body, lymphatic and nervous systems!! Good luck!!! ❤️

Davison (DavisonVideo) 6 months around 10%(sometimes more) compounded a week. My symptoms were transient insomnia and mild anxiety. Im also on effexor, so maybe that eased some of the symptoms. Check out survivingantidepressantsdotorg for other peoples experiences. Good luck

And stay away from drugs and other things that cause excessive dopamine seriously. It took 1.5 years about to recover

I've off almost 7 months. The first 2 months were hell. Akathisia is the worst hell you can think off. I also had that strange dream/awake sleel stage. I would wake at around 3am and lay there til 7. Couldnt tell if I was asleep or not. Was like so.e crazy acid trip.. I'm now getting windows where I'm ok but still very strong waves. Bad anxiety,depression and anhedonia . Pure poison

So in July 2019 I was having a psychotic break and my parents put in psychiatrist so he could help. He told to take olazapine 5mg every day and I didn’t feel anything. The only thing that I noticed was that I was gaining weight really fast and that made me scared. The next few weeks my psychoses got worse and I could not work in my job anymore. I went to my doctor and he told that I was having a burn out and I needed to stop work and then he increased my dose to 15 mg. I thoughts were awful I could distinguish what was real and what was not real. After a few weeks I got better and realize that all my thoughts were not real and I just went through a psychosis break. The only problem that I had was the weight, in 6 months I gain more than 15 kg. Then I started to run and have better eating habits and in one year I lost more than 10kg, by this point I was only taking 10mg. After one year taking 10mg my doctor decreased to 7,5 because I was feeling pretty well. The problem taking the pill was always the weight because the next year was trying to get back to 70kg but I could only maintain my weight. 20 days ago I went to Dublin with my friends and I started to stop taking the pill but I intended in the end of the vacation to start again, the curiosity about what I would feel was an other reason. In the days in Dublin I didn’t feel anything different, so when came back home I decided to don’t take pill again. In 10 days at home not taking the meds I lost 2,5kg, I was shocked and felt very happy so I decided to continuing to not take the pill. After 17 days not taking the pill is when I started to feel something different in me, I started to get anxious something that I didn’t feel since when I was really sick. The past three days my feelings got worse and I cannot find motivation to do my master thesis. Today I weighed myself I since I got home I lost 3,5kg, I was very happy because I have the same weight that when I started to take the pill. Right now decided that I’m going to continue my medication because I’m afraid to get worse, I don’t have regrets because my self esteem increased a lot with the weight loss but I know something is wrong with me.

@@ahmedsaafin9469 Since the day that I wrote the message I’m taking the medication again. All the bad feelings that I had stopped immediately and I felt the same as when I was taking the medication. After the medication I also started to have more appetite and I can’t lose weight again, indeed I gained 2kg but it’s controlled now and I also need more hours of sleep. I think that the fact that stopped the medication abruptly may have caused that, I almost 100% sure that I will not have another psychotic break because I have learned my lesson but the fact that I took the medication for years can cause a little dependency at least, so I advice to leave the medication slowly.
