a good friend of mine sang this at a ballad session not long after my dad died..thank you martin...martin healy trad band..they play in the villager pub in chapelizard dublin every wednesday night.if youe ever in dublin drop in.you wont regret it.

I don't see it as so sad as others claim, it's a beautiful lyrical compliment to a father of which this soul was fortunate to have in his life and it obviously nourished his talents for the arts. A wonderful tribute to his dad! Thank you for sharing this lovely lovely song Tuks. Mark

What a lovely song Tuks, just what I needed before laying me head down after a long day at the flea market. I believe I've heard Celtic Thunder do this song as well. We're in for a little rain, so I may just hibernate through it with Noy, Spike and Bowie. Sabaii and much peace! Mark
