After living with my 2024 Acura Integra Type-S for 8 months, I've noticed a few things I didn't before and hopefully could be improved in future models. Despite that, I still truly love driving the car but I do have one regret...

@GokuInstinct1 This car drives well! If you like the feel of great steering, suspension, body control? But the ITS. If you want more comfort, buy LC500. I'm not disappointed in the way it drives. I just felt Acura did go the cheaper route with production. You need to drive one. Put the windows a quarter way down, and see what you think?

You're 100% right about that front lip worry. This has been my first enthusiast car and I learned the hard way backing into spots is a lot safer. Also, the wireless car play issue has to do with an incorrect handshake between the phone and car. Only way to reliably fix it is to do a factory reset of the infotainment system and tell your phone to forget your car. You'll need to re-pair everything but it's fixed things for me. It's been several weeks and I haven't had a pairing error since.

Lol how does it not have that. Cars are starting to worry me with these missing features and putting features we should have standard, behind a paywall. My 2013 G37 has memory seats.. 2013... Plus I can tell you this much, my G37 has better quality than my previous 2 cars. A 2017 Q50, and a 2016 F30 340i. Material, overall feel, seems like cars are going backwards.

There's no excuse for the lack of standard equipment at this car's MSRP. "You're paying for the drivetrain" doesn't wash when paying this much of a premium over the CTR...it should be loaded to the gills similar to a Golf R. I can spec a well equipped M240i at around $57k and it has a full climate control setup for a mostly useless back seat. The back seat area of the ITS looks like a plastic and vinyl covered trash bin. I want to love this car but Acura needs to get off their beancounting binge and refresh their baby STAT.

Since it's built more for street performance (i.e.: Type S) and not racing performance (i.e.: Type R), the exclusion of a power moonroof is a dealbreaker for me. I can easily excuse it on the Type R, given it's mission but I wish the Type S was just a little more "Acura" than it turned out to be. $.02

The seats are still a sore spot for me. They just don't feel special and also don't hold you in particularly well around corners. Imo there should at least be an option for re-skinned CTR seats. Gotta disagree about no sunroof as well. If this is supposed to be the luxury CTR that's not as hard-core, they could have easily added one. Especially as the cheaper trim has one. Ditto for the memory driver seat. It's still a good car, but it's missing features given its price point.

I think it depends on driver height and the rear facing car seat. I am 5'8" and have a Nuna Pipa Lite Rx behind my seat, which ends up as almost a perfect fit (less than 1" clearance). Admittedly the Nunas are on the lighter/smaller end of things, so if you're any taller or have a car seat that is bigger, that might pose a challenge.

Basically all your cons about this car can align with mine, I also own an integra just a base model but I've modded it out to be comparable to the type S HP wise, and I got to say my biggest gripe is not having front camera, mind you I'm like 5'7 sitting at the max height possible and its still fairly difficult to see whether or not I'm to close to a curb, So to bypass this all together anytime I park I usually do it in reverse since the guidance is visually clear and little effort is required. as for another con, this is very miniscule but for a luxury car I figured automatic folding mirrors would be a feature in this car, considering I've got the A-spec + Technology pack. Wish the HUD was placed a bit higher but that might just be a me issue since I sit at the max height. Also WHY HAVE HEATED BUT NOT VENTILATED SEATS AAAAAAH THIS TICKS ME OFF, IT GETS SO HOT IN THE SUMMERTIME. And last but not least the flush of hatchback, there's a noticeable panel gap between the rear bumper and hatch that it bothers me every time I see it went to the dealership about it and they told me that's just how its designed and theres no way to fix it. Besides that car is a blast fun car to drive torque steer is definitely prevalent at higher speeds, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy to manage.

I don't have a Type S near me that I can go sit in currently but I've been trying to figure it out through all the YT videos LOL. It seems so 50-50 whether people think they're comfortable or not. Also, the ending! I fell in love with the performance red, the ITS looks so good in that color, but the red interior with LCM is hard to beat as well.

I honestly do not understand how these seats can be uncomfortable. They are no more "uncomfortable" than a basic Corolla. I find them to be supportive enough and wide enough to fit most body types. For reference I've sat in an Integra A-Spec and the seats are comparable with the Type-S being slightly more aggressive and firm but far from being uncomfortable. And yes, Performance Red had me rethinking my life decisions. Thanks for watching!

I bought the Performance Red, and I haven't noticed the seats as uncomfortable yet. I'll find out for sure on April 8 when I'll be driving for 3 hours to see the eclipse. The seat in my 2015 Civic Si was very uncomfortable driving for 3 hours. I wish that the subwoofer hit a little harder. I was about to change it out for aftermarket but I was told that it would be better to disable the active noise canceling/fake engine sound module first because it's specifically tuned to the stock speaker and would not sound right with the aftermarket speaker. Unsurprisingly, the dealer won't do it and I haven't found any videos yet for the Integra. I did find a video for the 2022 Civic, so maybe it's in the same location.

Every Integra Type-S post or video has a brigade of 'it should have this or that feature' when the reality is it's a driver's car with a bit of luxury not a luxury car that's capable. The only thing I wish these cars had is the performance gauges in the center screen like FL5s have. Nothing further. At 10k miles in 10 months not having any noticeable rattles either.

Rattles in a 50k car is unacceptable. My 2018 gti has zero rattles after all these years.

It’s all relative. I drove a 2020 Aston Martin and that one had a lot of things that were deemed unacceptable for a $100K car.

The only thing I have an Issue with Acura Is It still feels like a Honda. Interior wise. Unlike Lexus, It feels like a Lexus. It feels like they’re their own brand but still Toyota. I would assume the Interior Is as Important as the exterior.
@AutoEnthusedTV
@AutoEnthusedTV 2 ай бұрын
I definitely do not disagree. I think Acura was able to elevate the Honda brand in the early 2000’s but with the way Honda has been stepping up I think Acura needs to widen the gap a bit more in terms of actual luxury feel.

People hold too much of a high standard for a car based off a Honda civic. It’s a great car but the things you are looking for are probably found on the next sized up vehicle.
@AutoEnthusedTV
@AutoEnthusedTV 2 ай бұрын
Very fair point. The complaints stem from the fact that you start to be mindful of the things you get (and don’t get) once you reach a certain price threshold.
@Jdmrsxe2

Which is totally understandable most people will overpay due to mark up and realized they paid for pretty much the next car up in terms of price.. which sucks because you’ll start to really feel the remorse lol
