My OPINION OF QATAR 2.0 - The valid points I missed out!

As an expat Living here for 14 years, thanks for your video. Even if i’m non Qatari, these western media is also hurting me knowing how peaceful we have been living here all these time. 2 of my 3 daughters were born here and it’s even safer to raise them here than in my own country. Convertible Porsche cars were left uncovered in the mall parkings, along roads, and most of the time I forgot my bag inside the cart while doing my grocery and I’m already 2-3 shelves away and nothing happened. Couple of times I also forgot my bag at the Burger King and remembered after few hours and my whole family passports are still there. Not sure where else country you can find this kind of safety.

I am one of an expat living here in Qatar for almost 11 years, and yes the hospitalization and health care here are totally free, medication is absolutely free. Even during the pandemic the medicines for my maintenance are delivered at my doorstep from the health center. It was really hurt to hear from the Western Media about their negative comments about Qatar. This country is one of the safest country in the world, I left one time my mobile at the shopping mall (Home Center, City Centre Mall) and I came back to that shop after an hour and the customer service counter handed it to me and told me that one of their sales staff found it. Even one of my niece left also her newly bought mobile in the taxi, the honest taxi driver came back to where he dropped us and returned the mobile that he found at the back seat of his car. These are some of the incidence that shows proof of evidence how honest the people live here, how safe and peaceful to live in Qatar. We even sometimes forgot to lock the main door of our flat in the night and when we woke up nothing happened or missing anything at all. It is really true that we can't find this kind of safety even in my own country. Thank you Mr Daniel Anderson for your honest and positive feedback about Qatar.

My experience was the polar opposite of what I was expecting based on the BBC fake coverage, glad you mentioned the metro, cleanliness and how friendly the locals and the foreign workers were, all of whom I spoke to were well chuffed to be having a job out there, I think of how we treated our migrant Windrush generation who helped build our own infrastructure in the 1950s makes me embarrassed after visiting Qatar and then hearing our BBC covering it with their bizzare agenda.

Well said Daniel, I admire your courage, to tell the truth as It is not easy to swim against the stream nowadays. I hardly post a comment on KZbin. But I think you deserve to know the feedback from an immigrant who lives in Qatar. I move to Qatar 16 years ago and all my children were born here. I have never felt that I am an immigrant in the way people treat me. I have been treated with all respect all the time either by Qatari people or any other nationalities. Regarding the medical system, we as immigrants get superior service for pennies from government hospitals and health centres. By the way, those Govt. hospitals provide even better service than private sectors and believe me their service surpasses the services provided by the medical sector in many western countries. The whole country and not only Doha is very clean and it is hard you will find trash anywhere on the roads. The law here is very restrictive and the fines are very high for any deeds that impact the environment. Going back to immigration rights, I saw a lot of lies from the western media and the precedence goes to UK, German, Danish and French media. It is like they are in a competition that who can distort more the image of Qatar. For years, Qatari Govt. Legislated laws to protect labor rights. Such as minimum wage, salary must be transferred to the worker’s bank account (not in hand) to easily investigate any complaints regarding salaries delay. If an employer hired labour by signing a contract, he will be in real trouble. For your record Zero hours contract which is considered legal employment in the UK is illegal in Qatar because it does not protect employees’ rights. Another example is if an employer detained a laborer’s passport, he will be fined 25K QR (almost 7K USD) per single passport. I have a lot of facts that should refute the negative propaganda about Qatar, but I urge anyone to seek the truth by himself if he is interested to know the truth. Regards,

I worked for FIFA at the World Cup in Germany in 2006 and it was such a novel and lovely thing when the Germans created tent parks at the time. It was lauded in leisure magazines and the general media. Alas, come to Qatar, and voila, the novelty has transformed into full-blown prejudice. So sad! 😢😢

Let me tell you Deniel My nephew lives in Qatar he told me he worked in a restaurant but he also worked on the construction site coz he knows and it was his choice to earn extra money but the manager used to tell them it’s up to them if they wants to work at day time or night time so he said I used to work in the restaurant at day time and I used to work on the contraction site on night time coz it was easy and he was very happy and he also said it just rubbish they talk nonsense coz yes there was some people who died but their family receive lot of money around 40000 pound per family and also from that family one person can come to Qatar for work. And he said it was accident some couldn’t tolerate heat or something but he said maybe total 300-350 people died I’m not saying it’s alright but it can happen anywhere. I don’t think it o die in uk while working on a construction site they’ll even give my family a penny.

Thank you so much for your comments. As a non Qatari but living here for a few years now I can testify to how peaceful it is how clean it is and how respectful and friendly Qataris are. As to the medical system, a bit of clarification it is actually FREE for all Qataris AND Residents with top notch medical facilities scattered throughout the city. So all migrant workers actually get treated for free, they can do all required surgeries for free and the medication is heavily susbsidized by the government as well, the maximum I have ever paid for medication is QR 6 (less than USD 2). Where else do you get that?!!!!!

Your comparison to Dubai was spot on. In Dxb all buildings and infrastructure are built by migrant workers and the consulting companies and construction companies are mostly run by the UK or the US even though it may be local ownership. And all the top construction companies and consulting companies are headquartered in Dubai. I'm not sure about Qatar, but I think the main reason behind all this propaganda is mainly because most of the projects of the $220 Bln which was spent in the last 10 yrs went to Chinese companies.

One of the reasons for cleanliness in Qatar are the high fines that come as a consequence. Littering fines start usually from 500 QAR (which is just over £100 and about $130).

The amount of hate from the European and American media is so disturbing cuz we the people of the Arabian gulf are happy with everything happening from the world cup in Qatar to the expo in Dubai to F1 in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, and Qatar next season and the amount of progress our countries are achieving is something to be proud of. Yes they’re sore still since 2010 till this day. Im living in qatar since 1997 .... it seriously has the best medical services Last year my sister fell on a glass table.... broke it into two pieces and ended up cutting her whole hand from wrist to elbow into two ... flesh apart 3 arteries completely cutoff ... blood flowing like a fountain The best thing she did was to call the ambulance before she collapsed.... the ambulance arrived in minutes... took her to the main hospital(which is 1 hour away from our residence) with the helicopter in 10 minutes Before the helicopter could arrive the best surgeons were already waiting to start her treatment asap .... they operated her for five long hours ..... stitched her arteries... then sent her to another hospital for plastic surgery of her flesh that was ripped apart .... that operation went on till another 4 hours .... best treatment she got .... they saved her life .... and dint even charge a penny ALL THIS TREATMENT WAS FOR FREE had she been in another country... she would have died b4 reaching hospital.

All the England fans who went to Qatar to experienced it have been the lucky ones and chose to ignore the media nonsense. Those who chose not to go because of what the media told them simply lost out. I agree that Doha is very clean like Singapore but also Abu Dhabi too. Kuala Lumpur is a relatively clean city but Bangkok is chaos (in a good way). Personally, Qatar did a great job hosting this WC and the WC itself was tremendous (lots of shocks, great drama, great games and The Miracle of Morocco - and everyone united in one place)

Excellent review Small correction: The Metro is not a monorail system. Its a self-driven, conventional electric train. It's is superb.... Under normal circumstances a one way trip (tap in / tap out) is QAR2 (about 40 pence British) My observation of the cleanliness of Doha... Doha isn't clean in the same way Singapore or Geneva is clean. Rather it is kept clean. Unfortunately a lot of the people here will happily eat and leave their trash where they sat. It will however be v quickly cleaned up (as opposed to the residents cleaning up themselves) Much of the death stats alai include death from Covid I've been living in Qatar for 5 years now and will not willingly leave this place. Love it

It's high time ordinary people like us realize that mainstreams medias are funded and controlled by certain group of people who do have agendas. I've been following Russian war for example, the news shown by both sides for the same event can be quite the opposite. You can literally spin any event to your liking. Ordinary People mostly will chose which to believe solely based on their own bias. Whoever control the Medias know this. Hence it's important to keep painting certain group of people with certain image so when they launch smear campaigns against them people will eat everything without questioning even when there are two sides of stories, because they've been conditioned to subconsciously see certain people with only certain image. While mainstream medias don't represent their citizens, unfortunately many of them do fall into their propaganda. It's the same everywhere. With western medias tho, their propaganda can be much more destructive because they have much wider reach of audience.

As an expat living in Qatar for 16 years, I would like to thank you for your positive comments and explanations. Qatar is the safest country on earth. The hypocrisy of Western media is nonsense. As a TV producer, I attended 4 world cups starting 2010, and Qatar 2022 was the best ever. Well done to Qatar for delivering an amazing world cup...

Cant believe i never saw your videos on Qatar before until this week. Everything you said was true and lots of people agreed with you, the hypocrisy all came from jealousy and people moaning for no reason. In terms of comparison with Doha i think London did pretty well with the Olympics in 2012, anyone with a ticket to a event had a free travel pass which could be used all over London
