I remember late 90s early 2000s, you could not mention their name in pubs or on the street in Islington. People would look around and be like Shuush! I remember I was at my mates house in Archway and his Dad was a die hard West Ham fan, proper cockney black cab driver/DIY man, big lump and proper nutter, the sort that would give his son a kosh to go smack someone with if they said the wrong thing. Anyway, I was at their house one day and my mates Dad had a call on his phone, all of a sudden, and I never saw it before or after, he went a bit meek and was like nah I can't really, got a lot on errm, well maybe, I will try mate.... He got of the phone and was like it was one of the Adams lot asking him for a favour to do some DIY in their house, he was like awww mate I don't want anything to do with these, I gotta figure something out and he started talking to his wife and they were in deep thought for a couple of hours lol, proper madness. haha thought I would share.

😂 to be fair as long as you didn’t wrong them they were good as gold so as long as he gave an honest price he’d have been well looked after. It got to a stage in north London where everyone was throwing the Adams name around, people who barely knew them or had never met them and would be in trouble if it was discovered but it was so common it got out of hand. I’m a lot younger than them and I had to change my pants when I discovered the girl I’d been seeing for a few months was a loved niece of the brothers
