Next season you should place the Trumpeters somewhere else, just to see how the ducklings do if left in to be parent reared. Just to find out if the Trumpeters or the Turtles are the main issues. If you take the Trumpers out and you have a good result duckling numbers, maybe build them their own enclosure, as they seem to be stopping you doing more with the aviary.

Somebody, please explain what's so great about this aquascape filter system? If I installed an expensive pond system and had to (annually?) drain it to deep clean it like this I would be really annoyed. If you're super rich like Shaq then you can hire the installer back to deal with it but it still seems like a raw deal for the buyer.

That new papaya split will broke down when the fruit come. And if it a lot then it will not get to turn orange. It will stay white inside. No idea if the animal are good to eat those

Using that block is not a great idea, you have no idea if it made with fly ash or whatever in the mix and may break down and pollute the water over time. You should have called Greg or Ed and got them to send you the pond filler foam. then used the filler foam as mortar and filled in with natural rocks that you have in there gluing them in place. The otters will still pull them out over time, but it will protect the liner with compatible water safe materials.
