Hello, my name is Frieda. I found your channel by accident recently. I decided to listen because I loved your accent, then decided to subscribe because you have a great personality. Now tonight, I see you are also beginning a weight loss journey, so I wanted to write and tell you I am so happy to find someone to share this adventure with me. I take my 2nd shot tomorrow. How refreshing to find someone just like me. All the folks talking bad about it, are small. Plus, the ones who have lost are now experts. Thank you for just being willing to share your journey. I am in Georgia, U.S.A.

🙌 you are very brave to allow us into your journey. I hope you continue documenting with vlogs. I can talk about weight ALL day, it’s been a battle all my life! Doctors here do the same, less in and move more. Like I’m a dummy and don’t realize that’s the formula!!! 😂 I’ll shut up for now, but I’m wishing for nothing but success for you!!❤

Yes Terri, I hear you, they think we are stupid. Why is it always the naturally slim people that offer that advice? lol.. well anyhoo, thanks Terri and I'll do a quick update regular for sure.

That's great that you were able to get it on your own after the dr wouldn't even talk about it. 👏 We're in the comments cheering you on!

I'm in States and my doctor did prescribe it because of my IBM was high. I'm on Wagovy but I'm switching over to Zepbound which is specifically for weight loss. It's supposed to be better for weight management. I wish you the best of luck on your journey and cheering you on. ❤

Thank you thank you for sharing! Hearing from you on the same journey helps so much. I heard the ol' eat less, move more song too, with a chorus of go see our dietician. I found it all equally unhelpful. Since I started with your latest video... I know you're doing great. But I'm going to catch up in order now. This is the end of week 1 for me on mounjaro. And I'm hoping I have your success! 💙💙💙

i am a type 2 diabetic and doctors on NHS can only supply Ozempic currently for diabetics only due to such a short supply with it being sold privately for weight loss. I have to hunt round chemists every month to try and find it when I get my prescription. I am meant to be on 0.5 as this is the best dose to control my sugars (along with metformin) have been on it for 2 years. 0.5 is rarer than hens teeth at the moment so for the past few months I have had to go down to 0.25 (doctors cannot double up the rx either due to shortage) and it is starting to creep up my HbA1c sadly. The shortage is expected to last until next year. Unfortunately I cannot afford to buy privately either. Glad you managed to get it and it is working for you.

Sorry to hear all of that hun, let's hope they sort it all out sooner than expected

I absolutely agree with you about the dieticians. I have been to about 3 over the years and have never found them particularly helpful. One of the best things that my doctor did for me was give me a gym membership at a highly discounted rate. Don’t get me wrong, I hated every minute of it but I know it did me good. I was diagnosed with diabetes in September of last year but I was only just in the range so wasn’t put on any medication. At my last blood test I was told that I am no longer in the diabetic range. I still have to have yearly blood tests though. In that time I have lost 3 stone but I have noticed the pounds creeping back on. I try not to eat anything with over 5g of sugar in it. I was put on an online course which dealt with the emotional aspect of eating as well as the usual advice. I found bits and pieces of it useful but it is not something that I would have paid for. It annoyed me a bit that they were taking credit for me losing the weight whereas I had been losing weight before the course started and wasn’t really doing anything different. Anyhow, good luck with your journey. Do you have a plan for after the 3 months? It is just a lot of money which I am sure that you can’t carry on paying indefinitely. Have you looked on your local council website. I was surprised to see that our council run local weight loss support groups and fitness groups. Maybe yours does too.

Congrats on YOUR weight loss Tina and getting yourself out of the diabetic range, that's amazing. I had done very similar 5 years ago and and yes its funny how the dieticians and Dr's take the achievement as theirs LOL I did slimming world and my dietician took my 3 stone weight loss as her achievement. It all came back on in a blink of an eye. I gave myself 3 months just to see if I actually lost weight and to see if it suited me, but I know I need at least a year really. Im spending the time training my eyes to see my plate in smaller portions and to stop eating lazy and convenient. Eating with my eyes wide open!

That's great, slow and steady is way better than drastic loss which makes your body panic and fights you to keep the weight on, and btw, a 3+ lb loss is a very good start! Also, glad you didn't get side effects to worry about. Best of luck and sending your positive thoughts - and hugs.

Well done you. Just watch the side effects. My sister had raptor do the Bariatric surgery route on the NHS. It took 3 years before tge op. My other sister took the Ozempic. Stopped it after about 6 months. £200. She lost a bit of weight. I’m trying to do watch what I eat. And eat no more then 1700 cals a day as I am in my 60s. It’s hard going.

Thank you Theresa. I am definitely listening to my body and my eyes are wide open. Just hoping this gives me some brain training. Calorie counting is one of my downfalls... being a slave to numbers is so hard and reading these annoying food packets is even harder

@mattingleyhouse6 ай бұрын
Eat less and move more... a flippant and dismissive statement that doesn't help the person.
@IsaacKim6 ай бұрын
@@mattingleyhouse how does it not help. Lower calories by eating less. Walk, swim, hike, release good hormones to make you feel good from the inside and help with metabolism joints heart blood circulation and burn extra calories. Sure it's the most horrible thing to say.
@mattingleyhouse6 ай бұрын
Every fiber in my body is telling me I am hungry. It really is a massive internal battle that not only I but thousands and thousands of people have. If it was a simple 'eat less move more' I would not be overweight hun and I am sure that is true for many others too.
