My panther chameleon cage build

Sorry i did not have any plans. I just built the cage to fit where i wanted it to go in my house. It is 7' tall, 4' wide and 2' deep. Light box on top, habitat in the middle and water for misting system on the bottom with a drain bucket as well.

Thank you, I love mine. I had a little issue with water leaking but some silicone caulk fixed it. So take the time to waterproof

Probably going to have to use the aquatic safe silicone as well.wanted to do a mesh screen over a cone shape drain in the bottom for water run off and tank cleaning needs.will lead to a bucket or even a pan so its easily emptied and changed every two days or so.just hope it doesnt effect the humidity at all.i know Panthers need it consistently

For those of you without the carpentry skills or money. A great diy cage is get 1 inch material or even straight branches. Make a triangular frame, tie the ends together and then staple screen all around. You can hang it wherever. Also good to use chicken wire or something with bigger holes so bugs can fly in but the lizard can’t get out. Then hang it by your garbage cans. You could make a square one too, like how his looked in the beginning then just wrap in on screen. That’s what I did as a kid.

I do not remember what my total cost was. There is real not much wood. The waterproofing is the highest cost for the cage build other than the misting system, timers, and lighting.

I would never use something like that especially using glass not much air at All it would look so nice with screen I love this but would suggest people doing it

Only the front is glass the side and top are screen. I also have fans that are on timers that come on a few times a day.

@@Zuntic I noticed that from the screens from the video. I don’t think many people know that glass can be used if there is screen on top and ventilation vents on the lower front, plus fans. It can actually be better for dry and cold climates.

Top is for the lights and heat lamps. Bottom is for water, misting system, and water drain bucket.

@@Zuntic I'm basically trying to build the exact same thing for my two chameleons but I've never done anything like this before. The base level wouldn't be slanted though. Could I maybe ask the sizes of the wood you used for the skeleton, the thickness on the plywood, and the sizes the wood you used for the outside frame and doors? If not, it's cool. I was at Menards today walking through the lumbar isle watching your video but I thought I'd ask before eyeballing it!

The skeleton is 2x4's ripped down to 2x2's. The door frames are 1x4's ripped down to 1x2's. The back is luan plywood which is 1/8 inch thick.
