You handled the situation very well by standing up for yourself and refusing to move out. There are 2 kinds of Amish people. 1) Those that follow traditions and do not use any form of technology which includes phones. Their way to keep contact is by sending letters, not calling. 2) Those who decide after a year of living amongst regular society which uses technology to not go back home to live the traditional Amish life. Those who choose technology are shunned by their Amish families, friends, and community, meaning that they can never return and can never again have any contact with anyone in the Amish community; it's like they are dead. This story mixes the 2 kinds of Amish people which is not possible. The parents owning an apartment so they could make money is unusual to say the least because true traditional Amish people work the land and the women take care of the house and children They own pieces of land where their homes are built; other than that they certainly don't own apartments in cities outside the Amish community. Therefore this story is unrealistic.

@@gregorywilks1036 mennonites may but Amish(at least the ones I know of) don’t. They give another persons number out and then messages are given to them.

The parents were ALWAYS the problem,because they were always willing to use guilt and blame to make their daughter sacrifice her own goals for her sister’s sake.
