So the family's not gonna be happy when OP finally adopted a kid, and it was a struggling family member no less? And I love how the mother blamed OP for breaking the family, when all OP has done was ignore the drama and raise Jamie all the while OP parents and extended family have tried painting OP as a villain, inevitably breaking the family apart.

Right! They were gonna just let him age out of the system.

Well, that's how scapegoats work. They are appointed by a family or communuty to shoulder all guilt and sins, specially when it's not theirs. She was always the wrong member of the family for whatever reason, nothing she ever made.or decided would be right.

Op didn’t steal anyone child. Op saved a child that the family got rid of……
@denisebrown768019 сағат бұрын
So, her family suggested she could adopt when trying to convince her she needed to be a mother. But, they preferred she adopt a random child rather than her nephew whose existence they were purposely ignoring. They then accused OP of stealing the child whose birth mother (although not necessarily intentionally) left him languishing in foster care. In addition, now that someone else is handling the responsibilities, etc, of childrearing, the birth mother has decided she's entitled to be Jamie's mom? Smh! I'm glad that OP's sister recognized she had to work on improving herself before attempting to have a relationship of any type with her bio-son. I wish all kinds of blessings and good fortune on/to OP and "her" son, Jamie.

they would have preferred to forget about the "lost" child and just "move" on. the sister can have another one just not that one

Family: you're destroying the family! How? How are any of OP's actions destroying the family? If the family (I e., mommie dearest) brings the accusation, they need to present evidence.

Once OP adopted the child. The child was her’s and no one else has rights to him. Just funny the family didn’t understand that being a simple law.
@workrmtly55825 сағат бұрын
Family perfectly understood that. They just didn’t care. They shielded golden child against consequences and ditching grandson in the process.

Op is a far better person than the rest of the family who just got rid of Jamie like he means nothing to any of them………..
@patricialadd52022 сағат бұрын
OP makes the rest of the family look bad since they neglected the child and left him in foster care. Op's family are very hypocritical for bashing her for not having any children, then bashing Op for adopting her nephew. Can't win either way. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Myself, I would cut out all the naysayers, family or not!

So this story doesn't mention at no point to the family that she saved a family member that no one cared for from foster care.

It does repeatedly when she points out their hypocrisy at the wedding and even the other times she mentions the exact same thing earlier in the story as well as the distant cousin who posted on social media and said the exact same thing

OP’s mom is leaning on maybe getting more grandkids… while there’s a literal grandchild who needs help, and she’s mad OP is doing something?

I can sympathize with you. I am unable to have kids of my own because of health issues, and also I cannot live on my own. I can’t even adopt though, because I cannot work, drive, or live on my own.

OP I would advise you that if you want to make sure he is well taken care of in the future and you're not allowed you need to get a lawyer and draw up your will I would advise you to get a lawyer and get a letter of involvement to disarmed and discredit your family if they try to take advantage of him that it was so and keep all the legal paper and documents that you can get on them so that they don't really care about him that way they can't cost any trouble

People were asking Jamie about his process? He draws robots, not serene parks by rivers. His process is “Oh man, wouldn’t it be cool if it had a gun?” followed by “Needs more guns. Boba Fett had a tiny missile launcher in his knee. And an absurdly oversized sword, too. Like Sanosuke, in Ruroni Kenshin.” then “So is Sanosuke-bot 9000 going to ride a robotic tiger?” looks at TV, and some nerd is talking about the Fantastic 4 casting decisions… “Definitely a surfboard that can fly in outer space.’

why doesn't OP organize tutoring classes for Jamie or teach him herself. Math is not as difficult as is shown in this story. Otherwise, the story is good.
@Inesvera27021 сағат бұрын
Not everyone has the time to do those things and is best for someone like a teacher to be a tutor, if anything OP is going an amazing job by letting him focus on what he loves and not pushing him to focus on the things he struggles at.

Better safe than sorry, though. And CPS would take that as good intent, able to be relaxed when proven to not be needed. Besides, it's not like 10 year olds can't do harebrained things at times.
