The Bible doesn't make forgiveness optional, even at that point. Must continually forgive those who wrong you or you are not allowed to be forgiven what you do wrong. I would break my friendship with Elizabeth for her attitude towards her blood family and take their side in this situation because she is sinning worse. According to Matthew 6:14-15, a person who doesn't forgive others will not be forgiven by God. In the verses, Jesus states: "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

Elizabeth was justified in cutting off her family. They didn’t see her. They didn’t respect her. Everything was Mark, Mark Mark. Well look where Mark got himself in trouble. In every one of the stories where there was a golden child, and the other child is ignored the golden child is either doing something illegal and why is it in jail or starts a business they know nothing about and it goes bankrupt, and then they call on the child. They totally ignored and expect them to bail them out especially when they see like in this case that Elizabeth is doing incredibly well even featured on a tech magazine cover so they figure she’ll bill them out. No she won’t because you were never there for her, so why should she be there for you? Why should she give you or her brother any of her hard earned money. Because she’s successful you want her in the family now. You couldn’t give a damn about her before. You went to your sons luncheon instead of your daughters college graduation what the hell is wrong with you people. Treat your children equally you do everything for the golden child and guess what the golden child always winds up screwing up because they don’t really know how to do anything because you help them with everything so they don’t know how to stand alone they don’t know how to do anything. And they feel very empowered that everything should belong to them and then they do something stupid like embezzling at work or other crazy illegal things.

forgot to add maybe a part two to this story like say elizabeth is the next elon musk a multi billionare. then her disowned family shows up at one of her events and beg her for forgivness. but she calls security and throws them out. also maybe mark's business went bellyup and he is in massive debt and runs away. Or before his company goes bellyup he vanishes leaving behind his parents?

This is beyond hate. She doesn’t want anything to do with her family. She has no more feelings for them, she doesn’t want to feel left out or be thought of as a backup. She no longer wants her family in her life, not because she hates them, but because she no longer wants their approval.

Her parents aren’t calling because they want to mend bridges. They are calling for money! They want to drag her back into drama. Every other word is about her brother. They didn’t even bother to show up and apologize in person. They refuse to acknowledge the pain they caused her. Letting people walk all over you is not love or kindness.
