I appreciate how op worked to get her sister genuine help while sticking it to their parents

Nothing like toxic parents believing their golden child could ever fall from grace. From everything I seen through personal and professional life, the child that is treated better than other children is always the one that has the furthest to fall. You cannot put that much pressure on one child while putting other children down and expect it to not backfire in your face. Karma truly is a bitch and she always comes knocking no matter what people do to try to prevent

The fact that they sat the OP at a table away from the rest of the family would have been the last straw. However,. them saying that stuff about their own child. But the entire "circle of elitists" just makes it worse that it proves that people like that are always toxic and the money is a bit of insulation from reality. The OP had every reason to do what she did to them. The gaslighting and projection onto the OP, and then the parents trying to claim making the OP a combination bodyguard/nurse/therapist while pretending that "Mia isn't like other addicts"... talk about delusion!!! Maya is the only redeemable member of the family outside of the OP. She knows she needs help, and what is clear is that their parents care more about avoiding real parental responsibility and their image. They also gave her more drugs... while claiming that they "could handle it 'in house' because they know they could be arrested for it as well. I am glad the OP is really helping Maya, as the sisters were healthier members of the family.. and yes.. the OP had every right to expose them.

Ffs can you stop repeating yourself and get to the point?!! You seem to think your life is a sitcom or something and it's necessary to recap the previous part just in case someone wasn't reading it from the start.

Sometimes updates on Reddit are made on different posts and somethings can get lost. Recapping the old posts is common practice, specially in some fake stories. Also, these videos are mostly produced by AI, so they glitch and repeat some stuff sometimes

It’s Ai generated and probably repeated for runtime

This is definitely an Asian story. People in the US don't humiliate their children. They don't favor one over the other so overtly that they cause psychological damage to the child that's considered not golden

Oh, Sweetie. Is your right-wing xenophobia acting up again, or is it the racism this time? Edit: Wow! Right off the bat, BOSTON SUBURB!! This takes place in AMERICA, Kathleen!! Your perfect little country where everyone poops candy!!!

Idk I’m in the US and my mother always favors my oldest brother over myself and my other siblings. We’re Italian (born in Italian but raised in the US), not Asian and even as adults, my oldest brother could do no wrong in the eyes of my brother even though myself and my other siblings are much more successful, have better family relationships (with our spouses and children) and are much more trustworthy in every way that our oldest isn’t. He’s a lying, cheating and now an unemployed asshat, while my other siblings and myself have great careers that earn a lot of money, have loving relationships with our spouses and our children. It’s not just Asians that have these kind of biases

"People in the US don't humiliate their children." that is absolutely not true. I've seen it and unfortunately had to experience it. It's certainly not just in the Asian community, and please quit with that the US is above all other countries. It's not with what is allowed to happen in this country.

It actually said Boston and Arizona.... Furthermore people in the US are still people and still capable of being toxic
