Love your enthusiasm ! I enjoyed studying chemistry as well, but I wasn't very good at Maths and wasn't passionate about studying very hard maybe because I wasn't super intelligent coupled with no sense of purpose why I should want to commit so many organometallic reactions, for example, to memory.. So never got beyond completing a few Master's degrees, never sure about what I wanted to do career wise. In the end I went back to university, qualifying that time round as a gemmologist and as a geologist, then started a small scale alluvial gold mining business using money I inherited.

Graet, this is first time i have seen any such amazing video. Well, that's cool you got in almost every where you intended to be in, and then meeting super cool people around you helping and making all your ways easier (somewhat) to let things happen. I myself am so much interested in doing all such things, but the country i am living in doesn't support any single one, making me the most weak candidate to apply for any international program. I am at the stage of seeking PhD position in homogeneous steroselective catalysis but GRE is what is not possible perhaps for me, for its high fee( test+ preparation) or may be i feel not competent enough to crack it. It would be glad tp hear back any from you to still apply in and get funded position.

Hi! Recently several doctoral programs in the USA are dropping the GRE as a requirement an example of this is is Brown University which dropped their GRE requirement for 24 doctoral programs including their Chemistry PhD Program (www.brown.edu/news/2019-10-03/gre). You can also apply for a GRE fee waiver (www.ets.org/gre/revised_general/about/fees/reductions). In terms of finding research opportunities you can start at your home institution, and also look for internships for international students, these can be found both in academia and/or industry. Feel free to email us at youcandostem@gmail.com if you have more questions.

@youcandostem7257
@youcandostem7257 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I think one strategy that I can recommend is to start simple, and try to associate the material with things that are useful to you or thing that you deal with in the daily life if that is possible of course. When it start getting abstract or harder to grasp always ask for help to professors or scientific mentors, never feel like asking questions is wrong. If need you need more information please contact us at youcandostem@gmail.com

Madam, 1. what are your research interests and how did you develop it??
@youcandostem7257
@youcandostem7257 4 жыл бұрын
Hi! I developed my research interest through my experiences in summer programs and also doing some research and tutoring at my home institution. As an undergraduate student I had the chance to experience research in Physics, Engineering and Organic chemistry and ultimately decided to continue developing my experiences in Chemical Biology and Biochemistry where I can apply a little bit of everything I have learned. If you are figuring out what kind of research you would be interested in I suggest that you start by doing some research perhaps at your home institution, a good start point is working on a research project based on your favorite class material so far, as soon as you start exploring research you will get to learn about other areas/ research questions that might interest you. Feel free to email us if you have more questions youcandostem@gmail.com

Hi, there are many companies that sell GRE practice book, they are all pretty much the same, I can recommend the once I used but I am sure there are many others that have the same content, I found this website to be useful (www.bestcolleges.com/blog/best-gre-prep-books/). Kaplan and Princeton Review are the ones I used.
