For the people going to the ghar al hirra, the cave, i would recommend to go to the museum just in front of the mountain, an absolute recommendation and it has a giftshop aswell where you can buy beautiful products and not expensive.

I was there in 1984 for hajj, there were no railings,no steps the whole valley had no houses or shops and very few people oh no baboons. I did see baboons in 1995 near medina.

I went there during Ramadan this year and it was a tough climb in the heat but Alhamdulillah that meant it wasn’t busy at all. I’m surprised at how many people you encountered! I saw only a couple people the whole time and no baboons or cats 😂 May Allah accept your umrah

What some people practice in Hira' Cave is against islam. They seek blessings from that place and this is shirk. Prophet Mohammad himself did not visit this place after he started delivering his message nor his companions did. This place has on special acts of worship in the Shari'ah of Islam. It is just a historical place no more.
