She died of a bad molt. If you found her in a death curl right after a molt, it means she stayed curled up too long after shedding the skin and cut off her own circulation and then passed away.

Im a vet student and I wish there was more the world of science knew about these beautiful creatures. I have 12 of my own. I had this scenario happen to my Trinidad Chevron sling. It looked perfect. Healthy. Had water. And randomly passed after molting. It’s sad when it happens. Also hope you feel better soon man, being sick sucks. 🧡

This is more sad for me because I myself just lost my female achaotscuria geniculata. She was my second ever tarantula. Now unlike this one, I had fear about it happening for months. She molted back in June. Now, at her size it’s not uncommon for them to go like 4 weeks before they start eating again. The only issue I had with her was that she didn’t ray again… ever. I tried Dubias, super worms, and red runners. Nothing got her to eat. It wasn’t impaction as I saw her poop a few times after the molt and I’ve seen her drink water. So I’m not quite sure what happened. I remember watching a KZbinr who also had a large achaotscuria geniculata l. He named her Scarlet and she died in a similar way. She ate once after a molt, but then never ate again until her death. In an even more bazar twist of fate, I named mine after Scarlet too. The only unfortunate thing with tarantulas as that since people don’t study them as closely as other animals, it’s hard or impossible to diagnose and spot any issues they may have.

I'm not exactly surprised, he alone cannot properly look after so many creatures to the specificities they need. In short, he's failing because he's bitten off more than he can chew. If I were him, I'd stop buying new ones and focus on giving the ones he's got a better life.

He has a schedule for breeding, but he hasn't ever shown a schedule for checking the T's. He has waaaaaay too many T's compared to his old T area meaning more likely deaths. He doesn't check every T daily, he's mentioned that randomly over the years. He's even mentioned before that his gf joked about him being a T hoarder. But, in reality it's true. He collects more than he can take care of. They are more of a collection than a hobby. Especially if you aren't checking every enclosure daily.

@Bloodreinas_AbyssАй бұрын
It’s too hot in that room , you need blackout curtains to reduce the heat rays beaming on the enclosures , I’ve been watching you for years and I love the content , but I’m 90% sure the temp is what’s killing your T’s
@RedShirtGuy96Ай бұрын
I think in this specific instance the T probably damaged some of its internal organs due to the stress of molting as a larger than average specimen. If literally anything goes wrong during the molt they can die mid molt or shortly after. their bodies are remarkably fragile, and it really doesn't take that much pressure or force to cause internal damage and molting greatly increases the chances this can happen. I really don't think its the temperature or heat. I'm sure he's researched its relevant habitat and ideal conditions so i'm giving the benefit of the doubt. Its really just one of those moments where you have to realize that nature is harsh and unforgiving. and keeping as many T's as he does increases the liklihood that we get to witness random deaths like this with no apparent cause.
