People who played previous Personas were also taken aback by the new deep voice, then told themselves it's understandable because the japanese VA died, so it make sense that the english localization would also follow suit in changing the voice. @@caoisekamay1175the entire point of the game? No it’s literally a subplot making the comparison between the two tricksters and how Joker was one decision and lack of bond from being Akechi, but the entire narrative isn’t about this at all. The persona series has always been about the sociocultural issues within Japan and how to bring them to light and fix them through making them public knowledge and to accept there is issues in their country. The other large plot point is asking the question of the morality of changing an individuals heart to better society and if it’s ethical versus changing society’s heart as a whole without consent to make the world complacent and sloth in the OG Persona 5 ending versus protecting people from adversity and pain…in the new Royal ending…it’s really weird to say someone has a lack of media literacy when you think a single subplot of a multifaceted story is the entire point of the game…

Honestly, if I feel like, if Akechi weren’t specifically born in Japan but possibly on the other side of the Pacific (possibly, mind you), he wouldn’t be half as messed up as he turned out because of Japan’s whole “bastard children are the worst” and how just how _bad_ sex workers get treated there (speaking about his mother). Like, it doesn’t matter how bad the parents messed up, the bastard kids get the brunt of the judgment. Can we give Robbie Daymond props? Let me say this much: to Akechi, Shido and Joker are the same to him. He wants acknowledgement from both and works to help (and hinder) both for his own gain (and the gain of another at the same time). The major difference is that Shido doesn't care for Goro and would never acknowledge him, while Ren genuinely cared and happily acknowledged him. That's why, in the end, he sticks with Ren the most and their bond is the strongest: It's real, and has no conditions or stipulations. It's just two broken people supporting each other and fighting for a better future. Sometimes, it's as simple as that. Goro has never had a real friend before, someone who valued him for him and cared, even after seeing his ugly side, which is what stumped him about Ren. "After all this, that's what you have to say" Boils down to "Even after seeing my ugliest side of myself, you STILL value me enough as a friend to acknowledge me?" in some way, i'd like to think he had some peace in that.

Someone who is desperate to just been seen. He just wanted someone, anyone, to want him around and in the end, it drove him mad. He isn't without fault. He is a product of his circumstance, abuse, and tragedy. It's the cycle of abuse and neglect that makes it heartbreaking. Just imagine if he could have met Joker earlier. Things could have been so different between them. He was such and well written character and the voice actor absolutely hit a home run with his performance.

This sounds silly omg but your sincere emotional investment in this playthrough blows me out of the water ;_; (long under the cut lmao) Maybe I've just gotten used to streamers with more "disaffected" attitudes making a joke outta everything (often *refusing* to vibe with certain moments no matter how heartfelt), but... You see the characters normally regarded as annoying, "meh, plot device" or difficult-to-love (Akechi, Morgana, Mishima, Lavenza, etc) as wholly worthwhile to your enjoyment of the game!! Like I've seen ppl *enraged* the moment Sojiro walks in carrying Morgana, thinking they were "finally free of his simping ass" and wishing he could've died sooner :( I've seen ppl refuse to give Mishima the time of day even when no other confidants are available, or they do it just for the EXP boosts and fast-forward through his dialogue including Rank 10 :/ So this is my lil spiel saying I'm glad you felt their inclusion was *fantastic* let alone simply tolerable :D

I absolutely loved Persona 5. having played Persona 4 Atlus really outdid themselves it was such a massive step up in so many areas, combat, story, social links. Then P5 Royal comes along and just refined everything that didn't work down into even more perfect (not to mention the introduction of best girl. (in my opinion). One thing that I wish they might've done though was give us more time with Satanael at the end. In my opinion it would have been nice to have a little more time with him giving us some cool skills to throw out before finally letting us finish with Sinful shell and that awesome finale. That being said Royal does have a little more to offer beyond yaldabaoth... Just like when I played it: Some part of me wants to see the end... and the other dosent since it is the end... I wonder which side is my true self...

8:00 So fun fact, originally he did had a Palace. Dunno how it would work with the story as we know it but I'm kinda curious. And yes, Akechi's backstory is really sad, specially when you know there's people like him in real life. Of course, I'm not talking about the whole summoning gods and mythological figures, but the idea of people who had to deal with so much shit in their life, specially during their childhood, to the point of them either making a mask to try and please other people searching for love, or just straight going down the wrong way, both things that Akechi did. He had looks, inteligence and skills, but due to his lack of love, be it from a family or some friends, as Futaba said, he had only lies (Robin Hood) and hatred (Loki) towards society. He's truly Joker's counterpoint, who, despite being labeled as a criminal by society and having no natural talent (therefore the fact he must build his social stats), is a nice guy who slowly improve himself by hard work and makes lots of close friends, is no wonder Akechi sees him as a friend and enemy. Akechi's tragic backstory, even if he is a bastard criminal, is one of the saddest in the entire Persona series, or even Megaten as a whole (mostly because most main characters are pricks who think more about themselves honestly), just by how realistic it feels. 1:11:20 Well, you are not entirely wrong, since Yaldabaoth, or Demiurge, is certainly another name for "the" God in a few religions. Altough for most he is a false god. 1:12:00 Also yes, Lavenza is the best girl. I'm not saying that just because I'm a degenerate, I swear.

A bit of trivia concerning Igor's VA: True Igor's voice is very similar to how it normally sounds in other Persona games. However, Igor's Japanese VA died shortly before P5 was created. When Igor popped up, most people who played previous titles assumed this was just the new VA they decided to go with. Atlus was able to use the Japanese VA's death as a way to misdirect the audience into thinking Igor's voice had changed when really he was a False Igor. It's such an amazing moment of meta storytelling.
@WolfTalkings Жыл бұрын
Those "death" scenes really get me 😂 they do it for soooo long. I cried for every one of them. So don't feel too bad. This game just makes you feel that. Also this is not heaven or God. It is a god that if you look up is actually it's own thing and not a good one either. All of it is born from the collective unconscious, so technically this is how people view heaven and their "savior" as a whole and this thing felt it was amazing. It was on a narcissist level really. Why was it locked up in a hole? Rhetorical of course
