Wow that actually worked. I had to hit the build option 8 times when I hit it the fifth time it was like a countdown stating that I was 3 clicks away to becoming the developer. Oh... and I didn't have the Wifi Direct option but it worked on a old phone that's only used for KZbin for a young child. I am VERY HAPPY YAY..Ty so much!!!

Try resetting your router. I have spent a couple days trying several things on my phone. I tried the steps in this video. I even factory reset it. Even though the wifi worked fine on all other devices in the house, when I reset the router, the problem was resolved on the phone.

Some phones/laptops don't display 5GHZ networks. If your Wi-Fi network isn't showing still then try this.. Login to router settings and enable 2.4 GHZ for the same network as well . This should be definitely visible in your phone/laptop.
