Thanks for the insight! Definetly considering the 35 and to change my heavy old 70-200 to the rf 100-400! (eventhough thinking I will miss the 2.8...) What microphone do you use when you're out shooting in the outdoors?

I have a similar kit, so it's nice to see others opinions on it. I usually stick to a "3 lenses only rule" but I have the RF 35 f/1.8 Macro, RF 14-35 f/4, RF 24-70 f/2.8, and the RF 100-400 f/5.6-8 (nice light telephoto; wish it was weather sealed!). I really wish Canon added weather sealing on the f/1.8 primes or at least released some L-series f/1.8 primes instead because the RF 35 f/1.8 is super versatile with its macro abilities for video and fast aperture.

That's a nice rule - I have something similar when hiking "2 zooms + 1 prime". I really hope canon is coming up with something like this, I would love to have a 28 1.4 weather sealed lens 😃

Meine Kamera stockt immer so ein bisschen, wenn ich filme, und ich habe mittlerweile die Vermutung, dass meine SD Karte eventuell zu langsam ist… Mich würde zudem interessieren, wie du das machst, wenn du auf einem Gipfel bist und das Licht perfekt reinscheint. Du hast immer unglaublich tolle Filmaufnahmen, Fotos und Drohnenshots dazu. Ist das jeweils nicht wahnsinnig stressig? Diese Momente gehen doch ziemlich schnell wieder vorbei😅 finde deine Arbeiten richtig toll, danke fürs Teilen!!!😍

Tausend dank dir 💙 das freut mich echt riesig zu hören! 😊 Ja es wird meist sehr stressig, irgendwie funktionieren wir da teilweise wie immer wie Maschinen haha Tashi macht meist Bilder und ich versuche Filmaufnahmen hinzukriegen, erst danach kümmern wir uns im die Drohne. Es hängt aber immer ein bisschen von ab, so ganz pauschal kann man das nicht sagen. Aber deswegen lieben wir hier die Mitternachtssonne - da haben wir einfach ewig Zeit 😊 Zu deiner Frage - das scheint wirklich die Speicherkarte zu sein. Meine R5 hat CF Express Type B Karten und die sind von Natur aus schon sehr, sehr schnell - deswegen habe ich das Problem nicht. Ich gehe von aus, du brauchst SD Karten? Schau einfach mal nach Sandisk Extreme Pro und beachte die Datenrate, die sollte optimalerweise bei über 200MB/s liegen für 4k video. Hoffe das hilft dir 🙏

Mich zieht es meist eher im Herbst und Winter in den Norden, deshalb habe ich es tatsächlich noch nie geschafft, eine Mitternachtssonnenwanderung zu machen 😱😅 und da geht es meist eben relativ schnell bis die Sonne weg bzw. schon wieder oben ist. Es klingt aber so (und sieht auf deinen Videos so aus) als würde sich das so richtig lohnen, es mal zu versuchen 😊 Bezüglich SD Karte: ich habe tatsächlich eine SanDisk 200MB/s… muss aber gestehen, dass ich mich mit Filmen mit der Kamera noch nicht gut auskenne. Dann werde ich mich einfach mal weiter schlau machen, nach deinen Videos bin ich nun so richtig motiviert😊🧡

Hey Daniel, love your kit and thank you for this informational video! How do you stabilize your video footage when you don’t use the small rig (and minimise the “wobble” effect)? And do you shoot handheld most of the time?

Thank you 😊 everything except from these talking head shots are taken handheld. I try to push the camera against my body or when using the viewfinder to my eye to always have 3 points of contact. I guess that takes out a lot of shake already. Other than that I just try to be as steady as possible and sometimes add some post stabilizer in Final Cut

Yes on most of my shots I still use a 1/4 or a 1/2 depending on the lens - if the effect is too crazy I take them off occasionally.
