Tar Béla (Béla Tar) is a national genius. He is a so under rated film maker, because of his multiple 4+ hours works. He is also super abstract, and non linear. It's an interesting experience just to watch he's film, and understand it too. Also, I don't know ANYTHING about the translation, and it's quality. I will check it, and rate it for you guys.

Love your stuff, learnt a lot of watching you. Quick question, so I just bought the minolta-x700, do you think it provides sharp portraits, enough for me to charge my clients with? I do portrait photography, but want to try doing it with film, and not in the position to afford a medium format :(
@retrospective774 жыл бұрын
Depends on the lenses you use to shoot the portraits with to be honest, not the camera. There are a few really sharp lenses in the Minolta range, while some are not so good. I suggest you have a look for reviews by Ken Rockwell, who has spent a lot of time over the years reviewing pretty much every piece of Minolta kit. I'd also say this. I've had two identical 50mm lenses for my Minolta 35mm. One was sharp, the other not so much. It depends on how lucky you are when buying old lenses. They might look OK, but there could be some haze or warping of the glass over time that would cause your photos to look a bit, meh. If you're serious about shooting portraits on film, I'd suggest looking in to maybe getting a Contax body on 35mm so that you can utilise some of the fantastic Zeiss lenses available for those bodies, or going medium format. Both can be quite pricey though.
@visualtherapist42904 жыл бұрын
@@retrospective77 Yeah, I already splashed a lot of money on my digital so dont have the budget yet. I guess I will have to stick with what I have - and maybe luck out on some zeiss 50mm.
