to be fair people, including me, don't watch Smartphone for it's plot, we watch it for it's comedic value. it's kinda like Overlord or One Punch, you get these antagonists that had these long convoluted plots spanning months or years and when Mr.Generic shows up the plan is in it's final stages and they've almost won...then he deus ex machina's the shit and everything is fixed.

Yeah, it just feels like a one-off joke. That's why it's so weird it got a second season. You laugh at it for a few episodes and then it just keeps going.
