As an 'old' disc golfer myself, who loved throwing frisbees since under 10 years old, I think using that frisbee knowledge that goes back beyond my introduction to disc golf has recently allowed me to crack to code to being a better player. I spent over a decade trying to change so much and thinking that DG was such a drastic change (and it can be), but I forgot about the 25 years of just loving watching that plastic fly right into my buddy's hand. I think you just being you, and trusting what you know about plastic+gravity=fun is an advantage. Looking forward to some slangin' this season.

You nailed it! I was playing catch with my dad at 5 years old. One of the first things I do when teaching people is just to have them play catch. There is no better way to learn touch and spin. I'm 61 today and I'm playing better than I ever have in my life, not to mention the two lowest rounds I've ever played happened in the last 2 weeks. There are just a LOT more "recovery" days now.

I played Ultimate for years before I got into DG. For a while it felt like I had to unlearn my Ulti form to get better and in some ways that's true. However, once I found some discs that acted more like Ultra-stars the game started to feel more natural. I have said to friends that I think you would be better if you treated your 250' and in like Ultimate. Play catch again, it's the best for your short game and you don't have to go get the disc.... I'm excited to see how your year goes, good luck man!

My 18 aces, I have never had a blind ace. Though, playing a glow round with my brother, only people on the course, he threw a shot to a dogleg right hole about 245ft. Never heard anything but walked up to find his disc in the basket. It was so quiet out there, not sure how we didn't hear it.

Huge fan of your content and style Brodie!! There are so many technical aspects of the game, it can definitely be overwhelming, especially for amateur players like myself. Although I love watching all the instructional videos on FB, it's also great to watch fun and laid back content like this too! And hearing a professional talk about perfecting your style instead of trying to mimic all the other professional players is refreshing. Best of luck this season!! I think that a blind ace is definitely more exciting when you hear those chains or is cooler when you didn’t know and you walk up to see your disc in the basket. The only one that would challenge it is if the hole had lots of risk like an island hole or big water carry making the ace more pristine

100% it's better to see the whole flight of an ace. My one time acing around a corner, we didn't hear it and there were a couple kids playing near the basket. I straight up asked them if they moved the disc into the basket and they said no easy. But, to this day, I still have my doubts. Plus watching the disc hit the chains from the tee pad is such a satisfying feeling. You don't get that with a blind shot.

Everyone watching threw their hands up but I just thought it was parked. Nope, it skipped up over the rim & in. My friends said it was still spinning in the basket for a while & looked so cool. They were more excited than I was because I thought it was just a good shot. Seeing it go in is awesome. Even at 150' there's something about knowing it's in... just my opinion.
