meticulously documenting you and your family's journey escaping the West (steps, visas, travel-hacks, taxes etc.. etc...) could potentially be a massive niche and something your wife could contribute to via writing or even videos ... it could even spawn entire side businesses / websites for making moving abroad seamless for Westerners

Yours content always inspires me, There are lack of KZbinrs nowadays that have such a content like you have, just telling the truth is more important than just making money on advertisement, no one is interested and can just skip it over, keep going making the content like this and by the end you are gonna have much more subscribers in a near future

I seriously appreciate your videos. Your journey resonates with me heavily. I'm Approaching 30 without six-figure skills, but seeing you do the damn thing while traveling with a wife and kids is inspiring! Keep it tf up, and hopefully i'll see y'all on the road.

You can get a 9-to-5 job that gives you six figures. He already had one, but his job won't let him travel the world anymore while working from his computer. I'm in a similar situation. My old job let me take my work laptops to Europe, but now I have a job that won't let me do that, and it's one of the few that is entirely work-from-home still. I'm thinking of starting a business to go back to Europe on a tourist visa and work remotely from there. My fiancé teaches English, so it might be possible for us to start a business. But, it's much easier for me to get her here and use my US salary to buy up properties where she's from. Not only do you LOSE the money that you put into a business that you failed, and you put in more hours than you would at your 9-5 job. But, people who fail at businesses oftentimes get psychological scarring from their losses. People don't talk about failures that often, and it might help to see that as well. At least give people an idea of what is it like if they lose all of their money, sacrificed time with friends and family, and live out of their car for a while.

Hi Dorian, You really motivated me a lot. I was one of your first 100 followers. It's funny because I ended up learning how to code by myself, and it took me two years to learn and make many projects. I've been working as a Full Stack engineer for 1.5 years for a big company, and I do it from home in Seattle, Washington. Coding totally changed my life. Right now, I'm making a platform to help students and job seekers pick a better major. It gives them info about opportunities after graduation by reading what other graduates say about their major and job. thanks alot

Yea man I used to live in the Seattle area and moved back to my hometown of Oklahoma City. It was so much more worth it. At $100k + a year you can live like a king here. Not a football team, mountains, or the sea, but can always travel for that. I'm former Navy, and the big thing about living overseas is you have to get used to not having a lot of the conveniences like Amazon delivery, a store in every neighborhood, etc. If you can deal with that, then you got it !

You have a good heart Dorian, I know you will be successful on your journey towards being financially self-sufficient while traveling. To answer your question, you could easily charge at least $80-100 for a half hour of private coaching, imo.

Thanks for sharing this, good to see what other youtubers in a similar niche are doing! Regarding one on one coaching, I put my price up to $500 to prevent people from booking lol. I never advertised it but people kept booking and my time is crazy so I put the price way up this way no one books unless it's very serious (e.g. I had two gentleman who run a business and needed specific business growth quesitons)

As a remote developer (as of this year) I checked out Thailand for a month, and the quality of life and bang for your buck is unmatched. Bangkok is a crazy city and probably on the pricier end in terms of accommodation in Thailand, and there are plenty of great places like Patong and Chiang Mai but compared to the west you’ll be swimming in free cash flow regardless of where you go!

How do you plan on dealing with healthcare overseas? Health insurance cost in the US is a budgetary obstacle if I were to try quitting the 9-5.
@Nop3.16 ай бұрын
$2900 a month on a house rental? You could have the same quality of life for half that price all over the US. You just can’t if you want to be in a major city. Which isn’t all that great any way.

I've been looking and $1500 a month in some areas of Thailand for a longer lease 6+ months gets you a super nice place! We might actually be leaving early to check out Bangkok early March for a worldschool popup that's happening there. Thailand was our first location but we adjusted because of an event that is going on in Siem Reap. How do you like Bangkok after a year of living there?
@JiraTicket-zz6bh6 ай бұрын
@@DorianDevelopsI am in an area called Asok. Google Terminal21, is a shopping centre nearby. March is still a bit in peak season so it might be a bit expensive when you arrive. The traffic is bad, Grab is like Uber but it is almost useless in Bangkok because the traffic is so bad. The MRT and BTS train lines are better for most cases. The food is great, and the coffee is amazing. Try a chain of coffee called Pacamara. Be careful with the sim cart people selling inside the airport, they are mostly scams and will sell you an unlimited pack of data that gets very slow after 50GB. (AIS and dtac are the main providers)

You might fail. But, you might succeed. You have a successful KZbin channel, so I don't see the point on being negative. But, most businesses fail. I'm in a similar situation. I used to have a 9-to-5 job that let me work remotely overseas, so I could travel the world and still work my 9-to-5 job. But, now I'm in a situation where I can't take my computer outside of the country because it's government-related. And most corporate developer jobs have started to crack down on Work-from-home jobs altogether. Hybrid model still means that I have to live at least somewhat close to a big city and I can't just go live in a remote cabin in the mountains and work from there if I wanted to. Your focus is on coaching, KZbin, etc. Most of your ideas seem like something I can't do. And, most businesses fail. The vast majority of them do. I have three entrepreneur friends. Two are successful, but one is doing something similar to what I could feasibly do (self-employment and real estate), one inherited the business and maintenance seems to be coasting for him, and the third one has experience with having a series of failed businesses. And, the third friend is an overall pessimistic guy. Like failing at a business seems to have a negative effect on you psychologically. Because, you not only have to invest your own money into the business, but you tend to work more hours than you would with your nine-to-five job. And, if you fail, it seems that you end up looking at yourself as a loser at life overall. Running a failed business can leave mental scars on someone. Getting fired from a job is nowhere as rough as failing a business. And, you fail more than one, you might just give up on the idea of becoming an entrepreneur and just engage in endless side hustles, such as working as an Uber cab driver instead.
