My Pokémon Platinum Animated Nuzlocke Randomized Experience (Inspired by Jaiden Animations)

A few months ago I attempted my Pokémon Emerald Nuzlocke which went...okay??
And seeing as people loved watching my beloved teammates slowly, one by one, die horrific deaths so much (and the views were a nice incentive~)... I decided to revisit the nuzlocke challenge in a different Pokémon game with HARDCORE nuzlocke rules to make this run through even more challenging than the previous.
Welcome all to my animated nuzlocke through the Sinnoh region! The rules are the following:
- No Starter Pokemon and No Legendary Pokemon
- No Overleveling
- No Items
- Game mode on Set (No switching per battle)
- When a Pokémon runs out of health, they are DEAD for GOOD
- You can only catch one Pokémon per new area and it must be the first Pokémon you encounter in that area!
- You must nickname all your Pokémon

Tip: Blissey is super bulky with Special moves, but the bulk doesn't cover the physical attacks. So yeah, only bring Blissey against opponents that are specifically focused on special moves.

Here’s some advice for nuzlockes in the future Number 1: Shiny Pokémon dont count as your encounter so if you encounter a shiny before or after your encounter than it’s perfectly fine to catch Number 2: Static encounters like gift Pokémon or eggs or legendaries and Pokémon that only appear during night or day during a specific day like driflim on Friday’s at night in platinum technically don’t count as “real encounters” so if you got a gift Pokémon in a town but that town also had a game corner sense those are static encounters you can have as many as you want (probably I’m not to sure about static encounters) And finally number 3: If you ever lose your first rival fight then that’s okay because typically nuzlockes don’t start until you get pokeballs

For the Bertha fight, the reason why it used Earthquake was because it saw a kill with both Earthquake and Ice Punch because they effectively do the EXACT SAME DAMAGE. Ice Punch - 75 × 2 (Super Effective) = 150 Earthquake - 100 × 1.5 (STAB) = 150 I think that used to get me too.

About rhyperior’s(how tf do you spell that?) EQ, Ice punch has a base power of 65 or 75, I can’t quite remember, so doubled that means it’s power is 130 or 150. However, EQ has a base power of 100 and with the STAB bonus it’s power is 150. If you think of it like that, it would either always do earthquake or it would be a 50/50 depending on the damage variables, but basically, earthquake always either does the same or more damage than ice punch.

Earthquake would do the same amount of damage as ice punch, ice punch is 75*2= 150, and earthquake is 100*1.5=150, I know you aren’t a competitive player, but using damage calcs would help a lot

odds are, ballhog would have died to an earthquake, so the ai chose a random move that could kill causing rhyperior to earthquake.

That makes sense, I'm still new to Pokemon so I assumed that if a Pokemon shares the same typing as the move used against it, it would resist it. But as it turns out, it would deal basic damage + stab (depending on the user) so I guess the computer just saw the kill with no matter what move and went all in.

here is the thing I love watching platinum nuzlocks but the threat that is the champion scynthia does nothing to me anymore a year ago i played a mugol palt nuzlock and i got a sheerforce mlitank which knew ice punch i thought it would be funny to give it a quick claw on top of the speed and atk EVs so somehow this pink cow of mine outsped and one shoted the grachomp not even a crit yes a high roll but not a crit and since then i cant show any respect to the champ battle it was utter comedy the fat pink cow from gen 2 bitch slapped that ace of a champion so hard it did not even get the chance to heal

I mean that’s fair, but you also sound like you Nuzlocke regularly. As a newbie to nuzlocking as a whole, Cynthia is a frightening foe. Especially considering I’m not using max evs and ivs at all in my runs. It’s a shame that you’re conditioned to her battle now, because having limited knowledge on the game and ending up with nothing but a garchomp on 2hp as my final Pokémon was so exciting for myself as a nuzlocker.

I'd name it PumpkinPie, and its evolution would REALLY depend on my team composition (if I'm lacking Fire I'd pick Flareon, if I'm lacking Electric I'd pick Jolteon, if I'm lacking water I'd pick Vapoureon, if I need a psychic type I'd pick Espeom, etc.). But if I had to choose without team limitations, I would probably pick Vapoureon because its overall quite tanky and Acid Armor is a great move in nuzlockes :)

(Also I made a similar play in my platinum run in the elite four like you did against flints magmortar who I thought would solar beam in the sun againt my hippowdon but flamethrower could also kill so when u swapped to magnezone he died instantly I really should've swapped to my gyarados but I was scared of a burn so I missplayed)

ok i literally just finished a black randomizer nuzlocke this past weekend and i had the EXACT SAME ENDING against ghetsis (except 2 survivors instead of 1 lol) where my garchomp lived a crit on 2 hp to take down the biggest threat😭😭
