The internet needs more positive induction stories, so I thought I'd share mine.
My positive induction happened during the UK lockdown so I had the extra stress of the pandemic and not knowing whether my husband would witness the birth.
Thankfully all went well and my husband was there with me.
I forgot to mention in the video I was also Group B Strep Positive. I'd been swabbed in the early days of my pregnancy because I'd been bleeding. They only swab you once, so even though it can go on its own, I was treated for it as a precaution to protect baby Orlaith.
The treatment for Group B Strep was to give me two doses on anti-biotic on a drip. They put a cannula in my hand (which was probably the worst part of the whole thing because I'm very squeamish) and gave me a dose when they broke my waters and another one a few hours later.
The second dose was quite close to her delivery and they had said if they'd missed it, then she might have needed a dose herself, but thankfully they caught us in time.
