I don’t believe JT would not use their already modelled Preston station in another route in basically the same area. We are definitely going to get some use out of the 710 imo too. When they made Goblin, they knew they were doing WCML South, so fully expect that will include the Watford DC lines. It is then just a question of if it goes to MK or Rugby, just can’t see BNS with that being over 100 miles in total. That is a lot of work modelling the whole line there, especially with the density of the London end. Rugby does make sense as a compromise and a junction station for the BNS / Trent Valley split. I’m also interested in the other DTG UK Route and Loco DLC listed in the 4-6 months section. No one seems to be mentioning this at all. Will it be a route tied into the WCML in any way?

Yeah it would be very cool if WCML (south) is really a route for TSW. As well as having the whole Watford DC Line - two routes combined in one. Making WCML the most exciting UK route since BML. Just imagine trains spotting at any Bakerloo/Overground station. Along with seeing the traffic on the WCML.

I’m really excited to see the (if it comes) WCML South in TSW because it will provide a variety of services not just on the WCML, but on many other routes, meaning the class 390 will use AI only services on the Glossop Line, Cathcart Circle and Birmingham Cross City to name a few. Hopefully it goes all the way up to Birmingham through Coventry and Rugby, not like the Great Western Express or ECML. I would also like to see the ICE4 and maybe a York route. But imagine if the North Wales Coast goes to Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, that would be awesome! HOWEVER, I am not happy with TSW5 as I think it’s pointless. I hope it’s Rush Hour 2.0.

At a minimum they're missing a low hanging fruit by not running NWCL to at least Conwy to get the iconic station in the castle arch. Maybe they could even branch it and run the Chester-Shrewsbury branch as well, though 221s down venture that way, only TfW trains run that corridor. Maybe they could even do something crazy do do the Heart of Wales line from Shrewsbury-Swansea with 153s.

WCML needs to go to Rugby if the Class 390 is going to be in any way useful. Only case i can make for it is that Daventry is nearby which would be good for freight. Hopefully that happens

It's probably going to be a southern part, and tbh wouldn't surprise me if they cut it off at Milton Keynes. Rugby is the compromise, you could also stop at Watford Junction and have acceptable mileage

Will be interesting to see what JT have planned. Although the Class 87 would be interesting, either the Class 86 or Class 90 would have more potential for use on other routes and also can be used on freight as well, whereas the Class 87 is purely an express passenger loco used solely on the WCML. There are also some interesting features on the Class 90 that have the potential for additional play value. Where the Class 90 (and Class 91) have sealed cabside windows, there are secondary driving controls near the cab door so that the driver can operate the locomotive whilst having his head out the cab door window observing instructions from the shunter or viewing ground signals etc..

And having thought about it I seem to recall being at Oxenholme when a Class 87 paired with a Class 86 came through on a steel train - although the 87 might have been the unique 87101 "Stephenson"?

It should be viewed as beneficial to all parties in creating a debate and openness to discuss those projects. Also it serves to whet the appetite and you can tell how excited TinTin is! I really can't understand DTG's efos of secrecy? The recent leaked images of WCML South whilst breaching the Non Disclosure Agreement can only have been made worse by DTG's decision to restrict access from the Beta team. The end result is higher probability of an flawed and bugged product from a lack of testing.

Actually, thinking about it, London-Birmingham WCML could be a possibility as we haven’t had a WCML route before even though it’s been highly requested. They would have had tons of time to develop it so it could happen? Edit: you forgot to mention a TfW stock for NWC as without it would make 1. The route unbranded and 2. Lots of stations would be unused as Avanti don’t stop at all the stations along the line.

I think the WCML route will be longer than Euston to MK. Literally everyone will buy that route to drive the 390, and Watford Jct and MK are the only stops that AWC makes on that stretch of WCML. And they have precedent for a longer route with ECML, Kassel Wurzburg, AVL and Cajon pass. I think it might just be Euston to BNS or at least Rugby, if you make the route that long it will just make the 390 that much more of a hot seller. If they're worried about service length they can split the LNWR stopping services into two parts like they do with most of the AVL services. A lot of people might take a pass on the 390 if all you get is a 50mi 1 stop service on it.

You can't have wcml without the 350 and 390 much like how mml needed the HST and 158, you need that variety in services for it to work. You can't have a highspeed route without the express and stopping traffic. I think the deluxe/loco dlc would either be the 92 and mk5s or the 90/86/87 and mk3s with a dvt in intercity livery by LSL. If dtg were to do as you said that would be incredibly scummy.

It would be an ideal situation selling the 390 as a separate DLC but I think it is the most probable situation. At the end of the day, expecting 50 miles of route and 2 new locos is a lot to ask for. I would like to be wrong tho!

I don't think we'll hear anything about the 20th that was in TBC, on TSW4 roadmaps. These will be completely new contents (outside of what will be part of the base/deluxe game etc...)! And they will be ROUTES, it was openly specified... 6 new routes, with 1 rolling stock piece each! PS. I heard that (according to database files) it will be released on September 17th! Oh, I almost forgot! The DB Br 420 will be released with a new dedicated route! It has leaked that it will be a backdated one, probably to the 90's! Perhaps one of those 6?

WCML south Birmingham to Milton Keynes is my bet. London to Milton is to short for the avanti, London to derby or Coventry will be like “just finish it to Birmingham”. If they put Birmingham Milton you can stop at Birmingham international, Coventry and then full gas to Milton.

Remastering the bakerloo line to current standards would be kinda pointless since a good portion of the route is underground so you wouldn't see the benefit

@potatoman451 TBH, there are many improvements that are needed to the line. Much of the secenary needs upgrading on the overground sections and the underground stations are unrealistically quiet. Plus, the WCML add-on would allow for the overground section to be more realistically busy and maybe add additional parts of the Lionesses line from Euston to Queens Park and Harrow and Wealdstone to Watford Junction should these parts not not be part of the WCML route.

We don't have modern era Liverpool in TSW yet. I suspect 390s will be an AI layer on CCL, there are already AI Avanti services at Glasgow central on the new version of CCL, they're using 380s as placeholders for the 390s right now. If Rivet plays ball maybe we could see AI 390s on SRE and Fife as well, I think we already have AI LNER 801s sitting in Edinburgh on Fife. And there is for sure an AI 801 that visits Glasgow on the new CCL (which is now an anachronism as LNER stopped their Glasgow service)

Ich schreibe auf Deutsch, weil es für mich einfacher ist, bei KZbin gibt es ja die Möglichkeit, den Kommentar zu übersetzen. Die Filstalbahn wäre eine coole Route, insbesondere mit der Schnellfahrstrecke. Ich denke aber leider, das es sehr unwahrscheinlich ist. DTG sagte in der Vergangenheit, das aus Baden-Württemberg erstmal keine Routen kommen, da dort keine Geländedaten zur Verfügung stehen. Ich denke eher, das es eine Route aus Nordrhein-Westfalen sein wird. In den Leaks wurde von einem Desiro HC gesprochen. Das muss natürlich nicht stimmen, könnte aber passen. Der Desiro HC würde auch auf Köln - Aachen fahren, das könnte der Grund sein, weshalb der neue Fahrplan solange benötigt - weil auf den Desiro HC gewartet wird.

Seit diesem Jahr kann man die Daten auch aus Baden-Württemberg bekommen, deswegen auch die Spekulation. Dazu ja auch dieser eine Teaser auf der Nidertalbahn wo am Rand der Strecke versteckt ein Schild steht mit "BWT?" oder so ähnlich. Since this year, the data can also be obtained from Baden-Württemberg, hence the speculation. There is also this teaser on the Nidertalbahn where a sign with “BWT?” or something similar is hidden at the edge of the track.

Richy, the north Wales mainline would have to have a tfw unit imo otherwise I don't think the route would really be usable. I would say maybe something like a 197 (don't know if it runs that route) but then I'd expect if we are due to get a voyager it would be an extra dlc and then skyhook makes a new mml 222 dlc or skyhook makes both but they are separate products.

TfW runs 158s, 197s, and 67+Mk4s on the NWCL. Usually 2 or 3 car 197s between Chester and Holyhead, with some running all the way to Cardiff (*cringe* at the thought of 4 hours on a 197), 4 car 158s between BNS and Holyhead and the 67+mk4s between Cardiff and Holyhead.
