Just answering to few of your questions- Sardar- Though literal meaning of term is “Leader” but its often used in India to refer to Turbaned sikhs Singh- Is a suffix (last name) used by make sikhs and means ‘Lion’. Background: As in those times there was a lot of caste divide based upon surnames (heritage) and people from lower castes were deprived of rights and were treated unfairly. Sikhism started as a reformist movement and tried to abolish caste system by bringing in a common last name (Singh) to end this caste divide. Kaur: Is a suffix (last name) used by female sikhs. Many people in comments have mentioned that Kaur means Princess (this is wrong). Kaur refers to a bird that is so fast that it can snatch food even from a lion’s mouth. And its used for sikh female to symbolise that women are equal to their male counter part (gender equality has been in sikhism from day 1) PS- Contrary to teachings and sikh beliefs, some people still believe in caste system Why so unique? - The religion is very new , Khalsa day (birth of sikhism) is just dated back to 1699 (so like 321 years old only) and hence the beliefs and teachings are very modern, forward looking, discourages superstition, encourages scientific thinking, chartity, normal family life and gender equality .. Most historic text is well documented as its a recent history unlike many other respected religions which are 1000s of years old and because of that mythology and factual info has got mixed over time . Most sikhs drink and eat meat (turbaned and non turbaned) ... Baptised sikhs who follow teachings quite rigorously, don’t drink and eat meat.. tobacco and drugs are heavily discouraged and most turbaned sikhs will never smoke ...

okay so here r the answers to ur question 1.what is sardar ans-sikhs r known as sardar in India or any part of the world which loosely translates to "born leaders" as Sikhs have a warrior history and Sikhs defended every religion from the Mughal rulers at that time basically we were formed to defend the weak from the oppressors 2.what is the history behind the 1 Sikh vs 1,25,000 ans-so there was a time when 1 million Mughal soldiers surrounded 42 Sikhs who were residing in a fort in the battle of chamkaur even though the mughal ruler gave assurance of safe conduct (backstabbing), so our respected Guru Gobind Singh ji said " Chidiyan de naal baaz ladawan, gidra nu mai sher banawaan, sawa lakh nal ik ladawan, ta Guru Gobind Singh naam kahawa" MEANING- I will make sparrows hunt the hawks, I will turn jackals into Lions, I will make 1 individual fight 1,25,000 only then my name shall be Guru Gobind Singh. conclusion- sikhs won that battle 3.why sikh male have Singh in their name and women have Kaur in their name ans. our religion believes in equal rights be it a man or woman no one is superior or inferior same in the case of religions every religion promotes peace its just that the humans still can't understand and fight with each other in the name of God....So Singh means lions and Kaur means princess promoting equality between the both genders and eliminating caste differences. Even our holy site Golden Temple have 1 entry in each direction(total 4 entries) indicating every religion and caste is welcome and when u get inside there is only one path to reach the centre of the temple indicating no matter which religion u r following u will reach god only if you consider urself as a human first and commit good deeds. god doesn't love you or judge you on the basis of ur religion but on the basis of ur deeds. if you want to know more then I suggest you both to check out chaar sahibzaade and Banda Singh Bahadur movie if u want I can provide you the link with English subtitles and u can give a review. loved ur reaction keep it up

Sufi is also a sect of Islam, much popular in Iran, pakistan and India; also, in our religious scripture some hymns by sufi saint and saints from other religion were included by our Gurus. Humbly, this makes our religion to recognize other coexisting religions!!
