I go through my entire printing workflow from start to finish, from taking the photograph, choosing the paper, loading the paper profiles, calibrating my monitor, signing the print, cutting the print and packaging the print.

The best explanation on printing I've found. Forwarded this to a friend who fell in love with your photos too. Not only calibrating the monitor but using the icc profile to make sure the paper matches your edit is that tricky bit that only makes sense once you think about it. Closest analog is treating a room to remove sound reflections so you can edit music without the room contributing its character.

Great presentation and info Thomas - I personally find that red is the most challenging colour to print accurately. Agree with another viewer who said smaller proofs are the best way to see how the colour is traveling. Your back story for each image is a nice touch.

This video was an eye opener. Now I want to print my own photos. You have ultimate control over their quality and aren't trusting a print lab. The only downside is you cannot offer a wide myriad of choice as far as print size when you have your own printer, unless it is one of those big expensive ones like what Jared Polin has. I love your workflow, Thomas. It is an inspiration to any aspiring photographer.
