There are pictures showing Agassi using Semi-Western AND Eastern. not sure if he switch at some point in his career or if he simply switches based on the situation during a rally. But there ARE lots of pics showing him using both.
@BurnsTennis
@BurnsTennis 2 жыл бұрын
I think most good players will be like that. They have to be adaptable depending on the situation. Take his opponent Sampras for instance. From the baseline he has to use his regular forehand mostly eastern but when he is hitting a half volley / groundstroke near the net, he might have to go continental to guide the ball. Other times to get more spin he changes his grip again to more semi western. Good players do that and are not bothered about terminology. That's for fans and nerds to worry about :0

What about a video on pro wheelchair tennis player racquets? it would be interesting to see what differences and similarities they would have in comparison to pro able bodied players racquets.

from what i can tell they tend to use lighter and more powerful frames like the babolat pure aero because they have to devote so much energy to movement and they don't get as much power from the body rotation as non-wheelchair players do

Would definitely love to know more about jannik sinners racquet of choice as well. Definitely another next Gen superstar and his rivalry with him and alcaraz will be enjoyable for years to come. I would say he seems like a whippier version of djokovic!

He's actually in the same boat as Alcaraz in that he uses (the pro stock version of) something you can buy. It's the Head Graphene Touch Speed MP. He adds 20 grams to the head for stability.

@@kagakai7729no he doesn’t he uses a pro stock of something different. His racket has shared string holes which hasn’t been a thing on the mps since like 2014

Alcaraz's racquet has no dimples at 3 and 9, like on pure aero VS's available in the market !
@sjjapp
@sjjapp 2 жыл бұрын
That's an interesting observation. Is there a detailed close up image to back this up? I can't see the dimples on photos where his racket is clearly visible, but it must be said I don't see them on pictures of the pure aero Vs from that kind of distance either. I've only seen them of close ups, and I haven't seen such a close up of Alcaraz racket. If you know of one I'd be curious.

Good detailed reviews as usual.. we dont really know Carlos' setup yet, but I think his racket os heavier than a std 305gr,more like 320 Players of that caliber use at least that 315gr.. Even Nadal
@sjjapp
@sjjapp 2 жыл бұрын
I don't think we can say with 100% certainty but from the sources so far it very much seems his racket is 305g. He's not alone with such a light static weight. Sinner racket is 325g strung supposedly, which if we take average strings and an average overgrip maybe his rackets unstrung weight is 303g or something like that. Fritz supposedly has a 299g racket. Using tennis nerd sources it seems the static weights of the mens US Open semi finalists this year are 305, 310, 310, and 315. There are pros and cons to a light static weight. It's not all cons. And a heavier racket isn't all pros.

Verdasco usualy switches to an oversize head radical tour 107 for the grasscourt season, so theres one pro that playes oversize at least for one part of the season. Always thought Agassi played forehand with a semiwestern grip, thats what i always heard, i think Nick Bollitieri mentions it in an old video...

I use the Iga 298 and it’s definitely a great racket but doesn’t feel particularly whippy, had no idea it was a 330 SW 🤣

Thanks for the video. I wouldn’t mind you elaborating more on why Djokovic plays with his racquet. Rafa hits lots of spin, got it. Roger tries to finish points quick, got it. But how does Djokers give him a benefit. Maybe I just missed it.

@@curttheboywonder it looks to me like Djokovics setup has the easiest redirection of power among the big 3 setups. This is a pretty important feature for Djokovic with his game style.

You are wrong about Novaks and Federer racket...The PT113 is identical mold with Ti radical mp from 2000..Ti radical pro stock code PT113A Novak mold is PT113B so identical molds only difference is that Ti radical is stiffer than Novaks..so in early 2.000s you could buy Novak identical racket mold...PT113 has nothing to do with liquidmetal radical tour it is similar but different frames with different pro stock code... liquidmetal radical tour is the PT167A
