Hi, My name is Ron. I am a retired zoo keeper, at present I have many different types of poultry, which I love. Your coop video is great! And a perfect design, giving your birds a great quality of life. At the zoo we had a maintenance crew, that did all the building, and repairs.....Now, I am the maintenance crew, and a lousy builder,.....but im learning. I live in the Adirondack Mtns., the winters here can be brutal. Even in brutal weather the birds need good ventilation, which your coop explains great! I have 8 different kinds of chickens, both standard, and bantam, so I need many coops obviously, also I like the place to look neat and organized, I have groups etc. That come to see the birds, your designs, are neat , practical, and for me LOL, buildable....thanks so much. U2, for. Sharing. Your great ideas.....All The BEST.....Ron

Great coop and nice looking flock. You might want to replace the chicken wire on the vents with hardware cloth, weasels are vicious and can go right through chicken wire. They are mostly nocturnal so not an issue in daytime. Your black bird is a Plymouth Barred Rock and I would say the red birds are Red Sex-links, commercial layers. Rhode Island Reds don't have any white feathers. That was a nice big egg.

Thanks for this video! I live in NW Pennsylvania (right across Lake Erie from Ontario), and I really appreciate seeing a coop that's designed with the cold winter winds & snow in mind! It definitely gave me some ideas for the coop we're building this spring. How are the spikes on the ends of your posts holding up? I have been concerned about having to dig and set posts in cement, and if that works, it sounds a lot easier!

Those Are ISA Browns And A Barred Plymouth Rock, A ISA Is More Friendly Than The Rhode Island. We Have 13 Pearl White Leghorns (Great Layers), One White Cochin Bantam Hen (Uncommon Color), 4 Rhode Island Red Hens, Two Rhode Island Red Roosters, And One Modern Red BB Game. I Can Tell Yours Are ISA Brown Because They Have A Lighter Tent Of Red Because They Have Lighter Feathers Underneath The Red Ones, And Rhode Island Reds Have Pure Mahogany Colored Feathers. No Worries Though, Because ISA Browns Are More Friendly And Great Layers. Go To Google And Look Up ISA Browns Then Look Up Rhode Island Reds. Very Nice Coop.

I thought your video was great but how come there is no perch in the house so they can sleep on it at night. It should be above the nesting boxes or they will sleep in those. I think were going to make this one for us. Great idea.
