Nice collection! I think I've seen a Federal Signal install that was literally from just after Federal Signal bought WRRS, as all of the equipment was branded as WRRS, except for the backs of the bases for the signals.

Thanks! Finding a complete early Federal Signal installation must be very rare indeed :)

Great video! I think my favorite bell in this video is the Western Cullen Hayes. I just recently acquired a US&S E-Bell!

Thanks! Congrats on getting a US&S e-bell, they seem to be rather rare.

Great video, unfortunately here in New Zealand Western Cullen Hayes Mechanical Bells are more rare than Griswold Mechanical Bells.

Nice video! That is certainly a terrific collection! Wish we had used some mini bells in Australia... I might try to do a video of my bell collection in the coming weeks seeing as though I should have some time to upload for a change...
@McKHAust5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! That would be great if you could film your bell collection, but no pressure! It would have been nice to see mini bells in Australia, there is a possibility that they were used here in the early days, since Australia was a big user of WRRS bells I wouldn't be surprised if we tested one on a crossing somewhere.

Nice video and bell collection! I am very excited for part 2. My WRRS Bell has a Federal Signal sticker on its door too. Also, I am going to Melbourne in the school holidays. I am also planning to go to nearby places like Mornington, Healesville, and other places. Would you be able to point me to some good crossings? I am obviously filming crossings on some of the heritage lines as they have lots of m bells and Incandescents, but do you happen to know some good crossings on mainlines like metro and v/line?
@McKHAust5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Part 2 is going to be a while coming. I'm not very familiar with Melbourne but Puffing Billy would certainly be worth visiting, lots of cool crossing equipment there. So many crossings are being removed around Melbourne itself that it's difficult to keep up with what's actually still left unless you live there, but my favorite would be Poplar Rd, Parkville (Royal Park station) www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.7811004,144.9513119,3a,75y,155.82h,90.01t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sJQDeHXjxi_07H8gtCvsF0Q!2e0!7i13312!8i6656

Woah there! Did you get those bells of from an Auction or did you try reviving it? Because those bells sound really, REALLY healthy in my optional opinion!
@McKHAust5 жыл бұрын
The bells came from e-bay. Some were in good condition but others such as the mini bell and the Griswold had to be dismantled, cleaned and rebuilt to get them working properly.
@sp00tnik265 жыл бұрын
Buying it must've been easy for the WRRS, but Restoring it after buying it from ebay must've been tiring great job!
@McKHAust5 жыл бұрын
Yes buying them is the easy part. Restoring the bells sure is time consuming, the mini bell was probably the worst because all of the parts are smaller and tricky to reassemble.

Hey I got a question how how are you supposed to see what year the wrrs bell was made because I can’t find the date on my wrrs
@McKHAust2 жыл бұрын
They usually don’t have the year of manufacture, just a serial number sadly
