I'm so sad i can't experience or live the 80s 😭 everybody always says how 80s is the best time of their life. My mom always talks about all the cool things she used to do or have in the 80s and shows me all the old music videos. I wish i could go back in time and experience all of it! 😭💕 80s music and fashion is my favourite!!!

I used to have a little boombox!!! I used to buy blank cassettes and tape my favorite songs from the radio lol. I also put stickers all over it. I still have it and tons of old cassettes. I may never throw them out :) Also that Mickey jacket is golden. You're looking great in them 80s duds. Can't wait for the next upload :)

At my school all my friends always tell me I was born in the wrong era because I always wear clothes or act like someone from the 70’s and 80’s and being I also listen to the music way more than modern music it adds onto me being the throwback girl honestly find it so awesome that everyone thinks I should go back to the 70’s because believe me if I could I would!

I was a teen in the 80’s. I had the cool pink Sharp QT cassette/radio player in my bathroom. Played that until it didn’t work anymore. Miss it. Memories! Great video!

I have all the MJ dolls from the 80s in mint condition. My mom bought them back then and passed them down to me♥️ I also have an unopened, signed MJ Thriller vinyl amongst so many other MJ things cus...well...MJ is amazing duh lol

I was born in the 80's but experienced more of the 90's that I can actually remember. My first cassette was GNR appetite for destruction, and I had a little yellow boom box that I played it on. Thank you for keeping these things alive, I like to pick up things I find as well. I bought a victrola record player (obviously a newer one) but I do look in thrift shops quite often

I as a Generation X'er was born in the 1970's. I grew up across the 1980's, my favorite decade. I remember boom boxes that came with radio stations and audio cassette recorders. I remember the "hip hop & 'R&B'" music genres. I grew up listening to Michael Jackson and Run DMC. I grew up watching "Soul Train" and the cartoons. ☺☺☺☺☺

This was so awesome ! 😉 I was 8 yrs old when Thriller came out & we’d all carry our boom boxes on the bus and play them riding to school . I had a my little pony trapper keeper and E.T. lunchbox ! xo Rick Springfield “ success hasn’t spoiled me yet “ is a good album ( the cover is so cute ) , The Cars greatest hits , and Cindi Lauper comes to mind too . There was also a big trend of singers becoming soap stars as with Rick Springfield playing Noah Drake on General Hospital and Jack Wagner had a hit “ All I Need “ that was big and he was on General Hospital as well . I’m deeply grateful to be a child in the early 80s ! This was wonderful , thank you ! xoxo

I remember having a boom box, I wish I still had it, you know what I’m gonna buy one when I have the money. I was just reminiscing on my “olden days” back when I was a little kid, back when I was living in my old house, I remember having amazing Christmases there, I remember having cassette tapes, CD’s, one of those old big ass box TV’s, old lion king games or really old games in general. DVD players,, I just grew up surrounded by old/ vintage things because I lived with my grandparents and my nanas mom always gave me things even some of her old jewelry (may she Rest In Peace ). I cherish the things she’s given me. I think that’s why I have so much love for vintage things. As I was reminiscing on my past I started tearing up (btw I am NOT an emotional person, I don’t like crying) I just miss those days

The sound was better then because music was recorded in analog as apposed to digital. It gave it a more "warm" sound. Now digital sounds more clear, but some things are lost in the sonic ranges when you record that way. Analog picks up everything, even the mechanical noises of the tapes, which is why you hear a low hiss in those recordings.

Cassettes were still available even until early 2000s. Back then, if you did not take good care of the cassettes, they can easily jam in the machine. You had to be careful on rewinding or fast forwarding because if you allowed it to go all the way to the beginning of the roll, it could break very easily. The best trick was when rewinding or fast forwarding and to avoid them from breaking was to stop it before it reached to the beginning part of the tape roll and then you roll up the rest of it yourself. Now you don't even need any of these devices now. You can easily listen to songs online and download songs onto your cell phones or ipads.

Ah, the boombox. I lived in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn in the 1970's/80's. Panasonic and Sanyo were the good quality (inexpensive) brands then. Spent a lotta nights at Shore Road park by the Belt Pkwy with friends drinking brews and smokin' weed just chillin' and necking to cassette tunes. The indispensable, ever present boombox was always there. Went through a boat load of batteries in those days. Maybe not hifi but good enough for us.

Hi Jessica... I, just like your parents grew up in the 80's and it was a totally awesome century to grow up in. The music, the fashion, breakdancing and everything else inbetween was cool especially in that timeline. Even the 90's were pretty cool as well as the music and fashion changed but not by much though. Those were great times back in the day.
