This was the song that introduced me to Morissette. I am huge fan. In my opinion she is the best singer out there right now. She can perform in any genre with little effort. Don’t ever apologize for being who you are. For me, music is the one constant in my life even though I can neither sing nor play any instruments. I love the emotions it can bring out in us. Sometimes it is a memory or a feeling. Morissette does a fantastic job of bringing it out of us.

The awesomeness of this song gave me chills. I never knew goosebumps could dance. I was today years old when I found that one out. Honestly, this reminds me of battling for 24 years defeat drug/alcohol addiction. I have 39 months clean on the 28th. It was a flipping battle, and it is still a battle everyday. Yeah, I definitely got emotional.

Morissette is out Queen. The emotions she conveys in her songs distinguish her from all the others and leaves her in a class of her own! I can‘t believe you haven’t yet reacted to that song, which is - as I would say - one of the early great three: Akin ka na lang, Rise up and Never enough. And: she was allegedly I’ll on the day of that recording, and you can hear that it is literally „getting hard to breathe“ for her, but she still fights her way through the song!

Thank you for sharing your personal moment about your dad and his fight with cancer. I too lost my mom to cancer just over 2 years ago and it was so quick. From the time we were told she had stage 4 cancer it was only 2 months. It was totally unexpected and it was so incredibly hard as she was my best friend and my rock. It's been awhile, Gitana. Nice to see you back. I used to think this Rise Up cover by Morissette is pretty much untouchable from anyone in the foreseeable future. And then she decided to make an acapella version of the same song - with the vocal group 3rd Avenue - which she released last year on her birthday. THAT to me, is probably the best this song is ever going to be sung.
