A friend of mine is currently doing the whole van life thing! It is so inspiring to see her keep what she loves doing on the road but also be able to see the outdoors. She left her job a few years ago, saved enough money, bought a van and just built it from the inside up all by herself. She also loves traveling with her dogs too!I think it is awesome you are thinking of it, you should totally do it!

I hear you on that life! My pal recently purchased a cosy little van to dip his toe in and he does weekend trips to the mountains to go hiking. It’s definitely motivating him to eventually go further and spend more time with nature and being off the grid. I’ll miss my bestie but I see how happy he is when he comes back post his adventures. An airstream would be so amazing! Hope to have a Wahlie-stream series soon!

You should definitely travel in a trailer/rv/camper! I live in a 1973 Silver Streak camper, similar to an airstream and I LOVE it. I'm in my early 20's and its perfect because I can decorate it and make it my own without spending too much money. Only thing that takes adjusting to is the downsizing, but since you guys are just using it for traveling, I feel like you will never regret purchasing one. It creates a sense of freedom, being able to just get up and go without the cost of hotels, etc. Just the process of renovating it or decorating it is an experience and you learn so much. You won't regret it!

Yes Weylie! Get an RV and go explore everything that's beyond. I think that will make both your life, Wah's, and the pets lives so much more fulfilling. Most people would love to live that lifestyle but can't. Take a leap of faith! Never hurt to try than to regret not trying later on :) (And from a pet perspective.. a life of the same four corners everyday... is quite mundane, yeah?)

my family has a trailer that we take to the beach for the summer and it is so amazing. we have limited service so we get to spend so much time together reading, fishing, walking on the beach, etc. i would definitely recommend it!! it’s such a unique experience and really allows you to take a step back from the social world and enjoy simplicities that are often overlooked

My kids are always talking about wanting a ‘home car’. I’ve always wanted to rent one but didn’t know how to go about it. It was helpful to hear that your parents did this- I’m going to have to look into it! Thanks for sharing about your tile woes. I have to renovate my powder room down the line and I was actually thinking of going with your bathroom style including your tile! It’s so funny you talked about disliking your tile bc after your home tour, I was thinking I love your tile- maybe I should go with it. I feel you on having saved money on something you wish you would have splurged on- like your window and door frames. I do think as you get older, these are the experiences that help you make better decisions. You may have regrets but in the future, you’ll probably move and have a chance to apply all of these decisions you wish you had done.

When I was younger my family all went on a trip where we drove almost all the way across the USA. We started in our home state of Kentucky and swung down going to more southern states like Texas, New Mexico, etc. Where we eventually made it to California. From there we swung north on our way home and hit as many states as we could! It was such an amazing experience, and we got to see so much. We went to all the national parks we could, we climbed mountains, we saw so many beautiful things! It was the trip of a life time and we were gone for 3 months straight, just living out of our RV. We camped in a lot of places and also had to stay a few nights in Walmart parking lots 😅 but I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything! Also I still so obsessed over your home!! It’s so beautiful!! ❤️

My grandparents had a motorhome. They lived in Tucson and us nestled up right under Chicago. They would drive out with their dogs, and park in our yard for a week or two, sometimes even a month, and that is something I would always remember.

This is super late but omg yessss !!!! Do a cross country trip! My parents did that with me and my siblings before I went to college and it was the best thing ever. We went on one for 1 month in a pop up camper. It was amazing !!!!

Getting a little camper was the best thing my hubby and I did. We have 4 dogs so it allows us to road trip and get out to nature. Start cheap and small to figure out what you like or can handle.

My boyfriend and I are planning to customize our sprinter van with a bed and mini kitchen. We chose a sprinter because of its practicality. One day, we want to fully move into it because we're both minimal, have dreams to travel the nation, and both our occupations allow us to travel anywhere and work. Aside from obvious bills like phone, gas, insurance, etc. you essentially pocket all your rent/utility money.

I used to work for a marketing company that helped RV dealers, and I realized that I really don't want to have an RV because it just costs so much to maintain (I kept hearing that RVs break all the time) and as much as I love traveling, I feel like it's almost like taking care of 2 houses lol. One exception I would make is if I could afford an Airstream Classic, I would totally live that life. Airstreams are just wayyyy too cool, and absolute aesthetic goals in my opinion!

At the moment I'm interning and working at companies within the field of digital marketing... so soon I will be able to manage all my cilents marketing at the comfort of my home. Weylie and Wah, I totally think you both should go RVing with pets and all. This is something my boyfriend and I have originally wanted to do 5 years ago, but asked ourselves, “why limit ourselves to RVing around the United States when we can cross oceans!” So since then we’ve bought a sailboat (unfortunately lost our precious sailboat during hurricane Irma but we are working to pay debt off first before buying another boat). Our dream is to sail around the world WITH our small dog and future cat (am in the process of getting a kitten, call me crazy). This is definitely not easy traveling with pets to different countries as every single country has their own custom laws about allowing animals to enter their country. Some countries simply prohibit the entry of other animals. But with lots of research (and let’s be real some extra cash for entry fees for the pets into many countries and those vet bills) it can be done. People travel with pets all the time. Just do your research/prepare as much as possible before the big road trip. I think your adventure will definitely be easier traveling within this country, but if you both decide to take it around the world then totally go for it ! Don’t wait.

Honestly I think it’s a great idea! Not many people have a flexible career like you and Wah do, that allow them to travel much! Yes, the pets would be a bit of a handful, but the two of you are great owners, and I’m sure you could figure it out. Most pets are confined to a house and backyard and that’s about it. There’s so much for them, and for you to see out there!

I highly recommend getting an airstream! My family has had one for a long time and it's lovely. Also, camping is so fun, and I highly recommend going to some national parks. I really enjoy Yellowstone National Park, and I think my family and I have been there about 5 or 6 times cuz me and my brother think it's so fun.

Hi weylie. I’m from the UK, I recently travelled the states for 3 months and it was amazing. Me and my fiancé had so much fun and tried to fit as much in as possible. We rented a car and just went were we pleased. I would highly recommend it. We had to stay in air bnbs and hotels but I would 100% to it with an RV that would be fab!! Go do it! Right now! 😍🙂

My grandparents have a RV! They are older and both retired, so they invested in a nice RV and they always send me photos of them on their adventures. Once, they went to the Grand Canyon!! They bring their dog along, and I think it is also great for dogs to travel, because they always get so excited to be in a new environment :')) If you are wanting a taste of adventure I definitely think you and Wah should get a RV.
