Great review. The problem with not hearing an audience was that the production company did not mic the audience. You always put a few mics somewhere to pick up the cheering of the crowd. If you don't mic the audience, it sounds like there's no one there. They had a good crowd and the hosts kept (annoyingly) referring to who had the loudest cheering section, but to the viewing audience, it sounded empty. Kind of a bad oversight from a production company of caliberto not mic the crowd. I agree the female host added absolutely nothing. I'm ok with them going straight into swimwear competition from top 20 announcement, but I do wish they would give each contestants a full 30-60 seconds to model on stage before announcing the next semi-finalist. Same with evening gown...it's just too rushed.

Thank you. Agree totally on the rush part. Also the TNA owner had more airtime than any of the top 20 girls.

That is why I love Miss Earth for its credibilty 👍 The only lacking is the wow factor in their production. But if they improve their production, Miss Earth is going to be # 1 major pageant and that is no doubt.

Well the pageant is 22 years old and one would think that they should have improved the production quality years ago, but it hasn’t. It keeps repeating the same mistakes every year.

@@CriticalBeautySalon Miss Earth should just have English fluency as a requirement like their minimum height criteria so contestants who do not have English as their primary language waste their time. Poor Brazil have to lean down to speak into the mic and you can see her struggling to convey her response. She certainly was more beautiful than at least 2 of the eventual final 4.

All I wanna see is announcing the girls to advance in the next round with the camera focusing on the girls only or the audience at least and never ever in the faces of hosts reading the cards.

To be honest this pageant doesn't give me chills and goosebumps. A lot needs to be done. I love its advocacy though🌍 reuse, reduce and recycle ♻️. I loved Canadas performance. I would like to see someone else other than Shontel too. Rihanna can bring fire on stage❤

Because this year they are more focused on crowning beautiful winners. But last year it was an impeccable top 8... All of them were smart. They should have brought miss earth again in the Philippines next year. But Vietnam again announced that next year they will be hosting. I hope the criteria of judging will be improved.

The candidates looks were terrible in overall! Bad hair horrible make up! And those extensions! Yikes. Not even the pretty ones looked as good as they were( including the winner). That was one thing i Hated considering there were a lot of pretty girls

Beautiful winners, but I would have replaced Vietnam with either Netherlands or Russia.

Can't. Vietnam's Q&A ensured a top 4 spot for her. Netherlands was the fave but just messed up big time. Not even overall impression could've carried her through into the final round.

Is this a major pageant? Production wise it is lacking and is comparable to bottom tiered contests like Summit International and Miss Global. Even Miss Charm did a better job. At the end you can see the outgoing titleholder frantically motioning for hair clips to secure the crown on Albania. Just disorganized and cheap.

Well, it is a major pageant just because some pageant pages don’t consider it major. The average number of participating countries in the last few years is around 80. More and more countries are crowning national queens to be sent to this pageant. And it never runs out of sponsors. However, the pageant is 22 years old and the production quality has never really improved much to be on the same level as that of MU, MS of MGI. The script is mediocre, there were too many bad camera angles, poor stage direction, and a messy crowning moment.

Why Miss Earth is a Major Pageant? 1) More than 80 countries participated in this pageant 2) The Cause was clear and true 3) It has Many Sponsors. More than MU & MW. Which means other businesses believe in this pageant and it's cause. 4) it's acknowledged by international Media as Major Pageant together with MU, MW & MI 5) it also organized international pageants aside from country origin. Like Austria & Vietnam.

This pageant is just copy all the concepts from other pageants but just do in a very low budget 😂

Great Review. I found the hosting quite cringey and his attempt to adlib doesnt sit well with the occasion. Im not sure who is the chorographer of the whole show but it seems that it wasnt rehearsed well enough to make a seemless transition from each section of the show. It lacked vision and coordination with the camera crew as well. With the audience cheer, could have easily been fixed by inserting a canned audience cheer, and I wouldnt have minded that. The format of the show looks good in paper but I wished it had, again, been rehearsed well together with the contestants or the camera /production crew. And the INTERPRETER. year after year after year, this has been a problem. It is a shame that the production cannot provide a decent interpreter for a pageant that is said to be a major pageant. Will you not comment on the crown? I like that they changed it, but that new crown is 😕 meh. Ramona Haar's crown is still superior considering the story behind the crown and the aesthetics in general. Lastly, I agree with all tbe positives you have mentioned. The show this year has been a yotal upgrade in recent years, but things could haveen done better and Im looking forward to see the pageant next year as it has been announced that it will be by the same partner and again in Vietnam.

Miss Earth should just officially make English a requirement like their rule on heights. It is obvious they do not care about non English speakers.
