Great episode! Personally this is the kind of content that puts a smile on my face. I love seeing Latinas empowering each other. Financial literacy is a very trendy topic right now but i pray it becomes a permanent topic of conversation in our every day lives. I love the authenticity and vulnerability in the discussion, i too get clammy when talking finances. i really hope schools will eventually do what’s obviously needed and start educating kids on financial responsibility and the great benefits of investing. ❤️💰

Omg Julissa you spoke to me, especially the guilt part, like you wanna invest your money and make it grow but when your family has more immediate needs like housing it’s a huge conflict within ourselves. Also, during college I took a job as an editorial assistant but little did I know I was getting paid as a contractor (1099), holy hell when that tax season came I had no idea how I would pay. I paid it but left that job as soon as I coul

This was an amazing episode. I’m growing from past money wounds and trying to find a way to remove guilt from spending and allowing to flow. Sometimes saving for a rainy day makes me spend my savings little by little which I don’t ever remember what I bought or if it was worth it. Thank you ladies I am about to make my list!

This video helped me have a breakthrough. In this current season my finances are basically non existent and over the years friends have come through more than family (specifically my dad). This video helped me to realize that I out a lot of pressure on him to support me in my moments of need because growing up he was my bank. I didn’t have to worry about money ever, until I started paying my own bills.

Also I would like to make it clear that we are not rich. Far from it actually but my dad had drive and owned his own business while I grew up. The intentionality of it all brought the financial peace

This video was great! We definitely do not learn these things in school. Which would be incredibly USEFUL! The whole school curriculum needs to change to have successful and financially competent humans in this world. It’s sad that information like this is on a “need to know” basis. You need it, now you have to go and teach yourself.

I am so happy to see a fellow Latina speaking with other latinas empowering and educating the Latin community. I appreciate your channel as there are not many Latin KZbin channels putting out this kind of content. PS I was a fan of yours from when you were on BET.

Great topic!!! Lessons learned age 22 spring 2009 I got my first credit card and i save it in my wallet to this day. 3 years later they closed my account. I remember going crazy i was supposed to use it for emergencies. But my credit card and the lady at Chase charmed me blinded me lol and when you're fresh out of college. You're ready to party. Lol Fast forward to my 30s i know only get a credit card when you can afford it. Wait until you're working full-time. If you're in college wait, get a part-time job and be patient. The only thing waiting for you is debt when you get a credit card and spend it frivolously. If you are smart and only spend to save go for it. Or you're planning to buy a major purchase a house or car. Remember don't get the house or expensive car until you are ready and financially set to be responsible. Otherwise your home will be repossessed and so will your car by the bank. yikes and your credit score depletes and that's not cute. It can take months to years to repair with credit repair.

Total net worth=approximately $ -2,500.00. Is that bad, oh and just started a new job. Just $200 in monthly bills. No I got to keep track of it before it really gets out of hand. Thank you for this enlightening video of how important financial responsibility is important for anyone.

I prefer a card to cash because it helps me to stay accountable since i can see exactly where the money went. With cash im more likely to just spend it and not remember what i spent it on.

Crazy how as Latinas we feel guilt specially when our family is in our countries. But we should be proud of our success a loving family would never expect things from us. Of course is nice when we can t feels really good! It it should never be an expectation
