I've been searching KZbin and this is the only restoration of a Renault 5 ph2 I could find (or at least in English) and boy it really shows the time, money, and effort that you have put into it and can already tell it is well worth it. can't wait for part four

Thank for the comment Robert. You aren't the only one who is looking forward to Part 4.. I'm estimating another 2 years before it happens though.. ha !

That's just life, plain and simple, took me 6/7 years to complete my GTT restoration. Just surround yourself with people that support you and plow through.... One advice (hope I'm allowed), if that is the Volvo 480 clutch, get a soft pedal kit(longer clutch fork and the other "thing"), I thought I didn't need it but the clutch is so grabby it's almost impossible to be smooth and precise all the time, I cringe every time it bangs on the new shafts and rebuilt box. Just my 2 cents. Keep it going...

Thanks for the reply, and I welcome feedback good or bad also! Yes it's the common greenbox type clutch, when I changed the Clio's gearbox I think I have the softer clutch pedal bits and pieces spare from that which should fit! After putting this video together it's made me desperate to get on with it again, but I realistically need a garage next I think! Cheers

WOW, nice GTT! I think that the Speedlines looked better gold, especially as your car is black. When do you think it will be finished so that you can take us all out for a drive ha ha? Make sure you don't have the radio on so we can hear the engine, and good luck.... You've obviously worked very hard.

Teflon Coated thanks pal. Yes I also like the Williams wheels in the original colour but sadly they had been refurbished once in their life and the paint was all flaking off. I may think about changing them one day but was more moved towards bright silver or adding a polished lip like the originals have. I'm in the process of attempting to get permission to have a garage built at home, and if all goes well, then I can pick up where I left off and start doing it again. Initially worked hard, but havent done any work for years now! Dont worry, no radio will be on or stupid music whilst the C1J is running, ha. Thanks buddy

1999 was the last time mine moved under its own steam.

thanks I feel better for that lol. what happened to yours since 1999!?

+luminor007 sorry nothing yet, not one photograph or part collected since sadly. Still no garage or decent space to get it completed, and life has a habit of being very unpredictable so the 5 is still waiting it's turn. ha. thanks for the message.

+Chris Beer I crashed it into a roundabout summer of 99 and it's been in the garage ever since. Phase 1/2 crossover model in pearl white. Get around to it one day. Sorry I just learned how to reply to comments and am going through all of them.

+Big Pete probably worth saving again if its salvageable. Get yourself on it and free up some spare time for it!

+Chris Beer so many projects so little time or money, I haven't even got time to oil the pad locks on the garage where i keep it.
