I am in awe of your patience and persistence! Thank you for taking such good care of this beautiful, sweet boy. This came up in my feed because I've been watching a lot of dog and cat grooming videos by Girl With The Dogs. However, I also watch and sponsor SAVE A FOX (Mikayla). I found her channel when a baby fox came right up to me in my yard (3 acres surrounded by woods). I didn't know what to do and all of the animal rescues in my area (Ontario Canada) were either not reachable or said they don't deal with wild foxes (due to rabies). I found her channel when I was googling and have been addicted ever since. Foxes are such amazing animals. *We actually saw the mother fox get the baby at sunset, so all was well. You're right about them not making food pets. Most of her foxes are pet surrenders or fur farm rescues. I always wondered why they didn't get groomed as she can pet and even hold many of them. You taught me their winter coats usually blow out on their own, so thank you for that.

He must feel so much better, even his skin looks better. Just a little of a suggestion, lower the sound of the music, sometimes it was too loud and distracting. Thank you for being so patient with that pup❤

Have you seen a mat splitter? Or a food reward for allowing grooming?💕
@sunsetwildlifeconnection5 ай бұрын
@@charlottecolloff-hinde7657 he gets really nervous around food because of the neglect so that’s a whole another thing we work on. And I haven’t heard of mat splitter.
@charlottecolloff-hinde76575 ай бұрын
@@sunsetwildlifeconnection a mat splitter is a grooming tool with a plastic point to get under & into the mat then a captive blade to cut the mat into smaller pieces that are easier to get out than 1 huge mat. But as you say the whole matted shedding thing was resolved naturally 😁💕

Thank you for this delightful video. Michael Jay is really a very sweet fox despite his nervousness. You did a great job of patiently gaining his trust and not pressing the fur removal beyond what he was comfortable with in each session. I think you will be rewarded with a great friendship. Best wishes, and thanks again!

Awwe the fox has such a beautiful face.. ❤ But he is so thin 😢 But if the fox are getting out into the wilde again then it isn't good too be too much writh them. You did great, it was a great first try, it wril get easier as you try😊 I think he enjoys the hair is removed, he is just scared. 💝 🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊🦊 Big hugs from Denmark 🌹💝🥰

Thanks for watching. Foxes naturally have thin bodies and he cannot be a wild fox since he was bred to be a pet and now relies on humans for care 💖🦊🐾

Our old cat had mats like that and we used scissors to cut out being very cautious not to cut his skin!!!!

The problem is that he is not a domestic cat but a neglected fox. It was hard to get him to the point where I could touch him let alone use scissors safely

God bless you for rescuing animals! Your facilities are marvelous, so impressive. I know people on social media can be cruel, mean and say awful things especially when kind, loving rescuers like you do everything they can, do their best to help. It's difficult, oftentimes soul-crushing seeing what mankind does to animals, and yet rewarding--I know. I am not being critical, forgive how my words come out as our time is spent mainly with animals; communication is not my forte. My heart goes out to this little fox. I wish www.youtube.com/@Saveafox could help you or perhaps even adopt him? It's just that it seems companionship of other foxes would help mend his body and mind... It hurt when you said you never spend time with him, merely quickly switching out his water, etc. Only because I can't imagine how scared and alone he feels especially about/around humans. Again, bless you and your rescue! 🙏💖

We are actually in talks with them adopting one of their foxes for Mj to bond with. And don’t think that I don’t spend time with him. It’s just mostly protected contact, meaning I don’t enter into the exhibit with him (or at least I didn’t before making this video). But I have spent hours with him and his neighbor Jack almost daily 💖🫶🏼🐾 thanks for watching and commenting
