Thanks! I know my sense of humor isn't meant for everyone, but I'm glad she enjoys it.

“She’s impersonating Mae West impersonating Betty Boop.” That is a perfect description! Haha technically Mary nodded, but yeah. And thank you for saying what I think about Seger’s voice. It totally sounds as if he’s trying to squeeze one out. The video for Gabriel’s Message used to creep me out when I was a kid, and I was a bit of a horror fan even then.

(Kris Bluth) I was thinking about you literally the other day. Glad that life has settled down enough for you to come back. And "Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)" is the only U2 song I can even stand anymore.

Very special Christmas volumes 1-3 are staples in my family. Volume 3 is particularly great IMO. Good ranking!!

Thanks for your review. As you said, we may disagree, but you point out some things that I overlooked, and I appreciate it. Perhaps strangely for an atheist, but understandably as one who has sung early music for some time, I've more than had my fill of secular Christmas songs, and have to be held back from destroying any audio source emitting "SAAAN-ta Claus is comin' to town...". The 16-beat percusson on "Gabriel's Message" doesn't detract from it for me, and the Slaughter of the Innocents is part of the Christmas story and as such deserves to be heard. That said, I appreciate your insights and we can cheerfully disagree. If you're going to review more anthology albums (looking forward to _If I Were a Carpenter_!), please do consider _Stay Awake_, a collection of songs (and in the case of the late, great Ken Nordine, narration with wonderful backing music) from Disney movies.

I remember People magazine's review having this line on Stevie Nicks' version of Silent Night: "Hoo boy. Elmer Fudd goes Christmas caroling." I haven't been able to hear the song without hearing the Elmer Fudd enunciation ever since.

I love Stevie's music, but her voice is just so rough, and she knows it when she has to drop her voice to get to the end of each verse. It's awkward and she should've chosen a different song. Thanks for commenting!

It's been a long time since I saw a new video from you, Mark. I'm still a subscriber of your channel and I wish you and your family a happy holiday, man. 😅

Thanks. Losing my job last year threw me off, but as I mentioned I will get back into list making, and ranking more compilation albums.

How convenient that this came up on my feed just days after I listened to a few Very Special Christmas comps! Nice work!

Music opinions are very subjective, and I agree with some and disagree with your takes. Thanks for bringing this compilation to light once again. It has sat on my shelf since is was issued and only brought out a few times since then. I was like “oh yeah” I forgot about that album. 😊

Exactly, there's no reason to get into a flame war because A doesn't like B while C does. There are more important things to worry about. Thanks for commenting!

As a fellow atheist I prefer religious xmas songs.

I can't stand the John Melancamp song. I find it grating.

If it's the accordion, I get it. It tends to rank up there with bagpipes for annoying instruments. Even though we disagree on this, thank you for commenting!
