I just checked it out. SO WEIRD!!! The militarism is really disturbing. I'm a veteran; I served in Afghanistan and elsewhere over the course of a 10-year career. When I am home, I want to surround myself with nice things and relax; I don't want to live like I am perpetually deployed, perpetually on alert. Anyone who's been deployed knows that it's stressful, it can be lonely, you are deprived of creature comforts... it's part of why they call serving a sacrifice. This infatuation on the right with firearms, ammo crates, body armor... I think these people are so spoiled and have come to take their freedom for granted to such an extent that they actually think a civil war would be cool. And that's fucking insane.
@bosatsu763 ай бұрын
Very few of them would 'sacrifice' anything to serve... It's a man-child tough guy fantasy they're living out... You and I keep them safe while they cut benefits and mock actual veterans.
@marc212563 ай бұрын
The militia movement is mostly people unwilling to serve pretending they did. They don't know what it's like to have been deployed, but would fraud up some fake medical issues like "bone spurs" to get out of military duty.
@GamesFromSpace3 ай бұрын
That's because they want to be an action hero. And unlike you, they never actually experienced action. My personal theory is that our species is wired to deal with stressful situations, since comfort and civilization are newer concepts that our brains are not yet adapted for. So lacking stress, we invent it because we expect it to exist.

@@bill_g.since you decided to poke… long after the initial post and I’m a lefty from a faraway land that probably knows more about your country than you… I’ll help you out. As far as I can tell the left in the USA wants to defund the police in the USA because institutional racism and violence was embedded in these organisations from their inception. Most police agencies in the US were either former slavers that formed violent suppression gangs that in turn were adopted by white society to ‘keep the blacks out’ thus legitimising them as ‘police’ or they were mostly formed in response to the results of the civil war… ‘to keep the blacks out’ In other words most of the police agencies were founded for the wrong reasons and weren’t actually ‘police’ to begin with but more like a suppression racket designed to control the black people by any means. The idea of defunding the police is to (as far as I can tell) eventually abolish them and replace them with something far more civil like we have in Australia or Great Britain… Europe etc etc basically the rest of the world. Although I would counter that our police are far from perfect and were only turned into police force for the modern day through Australians having the political will to forcibly course correct them. If you look at the history I would say Australian police were just as bad but honestly probably worse throughout their history but you know… they got better over time.

In a world where flashy drama reigns, Kat’s take is all substance, commanding your attention without gimmicks. Her videos trace the tangled web of media ownership, uncovering slants, spins, and the hidden power plays that shape what we see and hear. Kat’s no stranger to asking the tough questions, making you rethink those viral moments and the players behind political theater. She peels back the layers to show you the mechanisms that drive the news machine, challenging you to see how the scales tip for clicks and ratings. With her, it’s never just critique for show; it’s an invitation to understand the game and the stakes. Kat’s commentary doesn’t just entertain-it stirs something deeper. She leaves you thinking, maybe even second-guessing, what you took as gospel, making you realize that sometimes, the truth is as complicated as it is compelling.

For some reason an ad from one of these bizarre Facebook groups with "patriot" in the title popped up in my feed. It was for a tactical baby bjorn. Is anyone going into battle wearing their infant as a human shield? These people just ain't right in the head.

“Our whiskeys are designed to withstand the trials of war!??” That sounds an iota away from Pine-Sol and grain alcohol with a tin bucket aftertaste, distilled in someone’s basement. Great marketing, Mammoth Mart. “Victory Gin forever!”

I'm going to start referring to the added charge on these right-wing grifts as the camo tax.

Yeah, i spend about $400 a year on coffee. That doesnt include dairy free creamer. That'd probably add another $100 or so a year. I only really drink coffee at home.
