Thanks for the video! I loved it and saved it in multiple folders so I don't lose it :) I've been so impressed with a couple walking videos, I wanted to do that as well, I was thinking of asking the person what they use, I knew a bit about these mics and I've seen them online but not a good demo. This is what I'm looking for!! The sound can make or break a video. If you're trying to let the audience experience where you are, then the right sound makes all the difference with that. Thank you! Just wondering, could you plug this into the Bluetooth transmitter instead like the rode mic? Would it be better to plug it into a phone, record the audio file there and then combine video/audio later? I'd rather have my video equipment not tethered to this wire.

Glad you liked it. I never tried to use it with a bluetooth transmitter. The mics themselves are not wireless in any way. So you could maybe get a 3rd-party thing. But I have not tried.

Really neat demo. I wonder if I could train myself to not look around while filming. :)
@HomebrewAudioRecording Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I think you could. It took me only a few minutes to remember the opposite - while in the pub I was at first moving the phone around and NOT moving my head. I realized that wouldn't result in any kind of spatial experience for the listener. PEOPLE move their heads around when looking around. So it only took a few minutes to train myself TO move my head around. Probably wouldn't be hard to do the opposite.

Recently got a set. When plugged into my Zoom F6 i start to notice some pretty loud self noise when i set the gain even about +5db. I also did a test at 0db and raised it +15db in Adobe Audition and I got very loud noise. Have you had issues like this? I wonder if I’m doing something wrong.

Ive got a zoom f6 as well, how did you connect it? Seems it has a USB C output (The mics), just trying to see how to get 32 bit float
@PagosaCreative5 ай бұрын
@@conan2566 I have the Pro XLR version. I just connect them and link as a stereo pair.
@Josh-97a2 ай бұрын
@@PagosaCreative Do you get any cord noise from the XLR version? Say you are walking around and recording, and the Zoom is in your pocket or a bag, and the cables are touching something or moving around. Is there sound from the cables being touched?
@PagosaCreative2 ай бұрын
@@Josh-97a Yeah you do. You need to be careful with this. The kit comes with some cable clips and it helps to secure them with plenty of slack.

The helicopter flying over at 8:31 was excellent timing and terrific demo of the SP15. Does it monitor the audio you're capturing while you're using it?
@HomebrewAudioRecording Жыл бұрын
Yes! I thought so, too. Not sure what you mean by monitoring the audio as you're capturing it? but if you mean some way to hear it as it's being recorded, then no. there is no headphone jack or anything like that. Since it's designed to hear what hyou are hearing, it isn't all that necessary.

Very interesting video, Ken. I would like to hear the results of you playing a guitar and singing using this system. It feels like the wire might get in the way making it a little awkward. Thanks!
@HomebrewAudioRecording Жыл бұрын
It wouldn't be awkward for me because I always record guitar with wired headphones on. And that would be interesting to hear - the audio from the perspective of the performer. I might try that. Thanks for the idea.

Quick question, what kind of wind muffs/screen did you use or any link? Thanks for the video!
@HomebrewAudioRecording Жыл бұрын
For that wind demo, I used a pair that came with the SP15V. So if you get that model (mainly for DSLR-type cameras), those will be in the box. If you get the one I demo'd - the SP15C - there is a card inside with a QR code linking to the WindTech 8801 windscreen. You can get them here: homerecording.click/sp15-windscreen

I hear a lot of sizzle when you use SP15C to self record. Would de-esser processing help or levels are just too hot?
@HomebrewAudioRecording Жыл бұрын
Not sure what you mean by sizzle. But I assure you that isn't coming form the mic itself, unless it got damaged or something. Now they ARE omni mics, so they are picking up a lot more noise than a standard cardioid would. My guess is that what you are describing is something else getting recorded - some noise somewhere. And in that case, noise reduction would be the best bet.
